1 YEAR CELEBRATION DEAL

Aquatrek Expeditions is celebrating its first year in business! Time for a post series!

The Swamp Lily reminds me of my business. Simple, grabs your attention, and it grows right out of a swamp. The first major turning point in my business I’d like to talk about in this series was my decision to find a way to continue to protect that swamp. After shutting down my nonprofit, Keepers of the Springs, it hit me that I never really had to stop doing my nonprofit’s cleanup work. First, I officially adopted 13 springs through . Then I began hosting free cleanups the second Wednesday of each month to offer freedivers a chance to meet other divers and contribute to keeping the springs clean. It was a long break from doing underwater cleanups, but it’s damn good to be back at it again. Feels like home.

There are so many adventures to recap and reflect on that it may take all month to cover, but stick around because all month I’ll be handing out 15% off discounts BUSINESS WIDE! The Fins Up Freediving Retreat is coming together quite nicely. This is an intimate, exclusive retreat that encourages togetherness, adventure, and wellness. A place where you can live your story and share it with others.

I’ve brought together freediving instructors, musicians, photographers, massage experts / yoga instructors to help me share the incredible mental health benefits that freediving in the springs can bring out in us.

Cleanup dive incoming!!!

For this month's FREE community cleanup dive, I’ve decided to float/dive the Ichetucknee River. We’ll be meeting at the south entrance on Wednesday, June 12th at 9:00 AM, right in front of the gift shop. I’ll bring the trash receptacles, you bring the freediving talent and a go get ‘em attitude.

All recovered trash will be documented and the data and photos will be sent to .

Let’s leave it better than when we found it.

Emily offers comprehensive services, including modeling coaching and the presence of a safety diver, ensuring a relaxed and comfortable environment for her clients. Her goal is to provide an unforgettable underwater photoshoot experience with Submerged Dreams Photography, resulting in images that can be cherished for a lifetime.

After our retreat programming wraps on Sunday, Emily will be booking private photography sessions with retreat guests who will enjoy a one-time only reduced rate on her underwater portrait work.

We’re SO excited to bring Thai massage and yoga to our retreat, courtesy of Gainesville’s very own Angie Hyse! On Friday, our attendees will take part in Thai yoga flows. On Saturday night, we will open up donation based individual Thai massage sessions while we do live music by the fire.

What better way to wind down after two days of freediving epic Florida springs! Let’s learn about Angie:

• She’s been teaching yoga for about 6 years and teaches slow, controlled, curious, and transition focused movement that drops participants right into their bodies!

🌴 Fins Up Retreat🌴

Nobody who knows me would call me a quiet person 🌝Recently it’s hitting me that the exploration, skill building, and outdoor lifestyle that my business supports is actively changing the lives of my clients in ways I can clearly see.

As an ecotour guide, I have a lot to explain - but it’s so important to let my clients make what they will of their experience. To tell their own stories and find their own way within the communities I introduce them to. As important as it is for me to get the freediving training and ecology concepts across, there’s nothing more satisfying to my passion than when my clients move on from my tours to create a new lifestyle for themselves that leaves them more engaged with nature, happy with their new friends, and proud of their new abilities in the water.

We’re fifty percent sold out for our upcoming retreat, where I’m sure I’ll get to see this happen again. Small groups encourage the magic and connection that the water offers. 🐢 Unique Cleanup Expedition 🐢

We’re taking a deep dive into Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park on Wednesday, May 7th. MAYbe you’ll be there?! Not only will we be snorkeling and cleaning up trash, I’ll also bring out a couple rental boards so we can explore the lesser known secrets of this state park both above and below the water…

The big difference on this cleanup is that we’re starting later in the day to accommodate the growing summer crowds and to help the rangers out as the trash builds over the day. Let’s do our part and have an adventure as well.

What do you think it would look like if you multiplied the power of Niagara falls by ten, and then flipped it upside down and buried it?

It’d look like the Rainbow River.

How much water per day are we talking about? Conservative estimates put the number at 55 million gallons of water over the edge of Niagara Falls - a fun fact that’s enough to “wow” any tourist. Meanwhile, Rainbow River spring quietly emits over half a billion gallons in under 24 hours, and hardly anyone knows about it.

Why is that?

Recently, I got the chance to tour this amazing river with an amazing couple! Jim Abernethy and his partner Katherine came along on a two day paddle expedition, and even got some up-close footage of River Otters 🦦 An incredible encounter for a guy who’s seen it all when it comes to world-class ocean animals.
