GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Aug. 7, 2024) – The final helping of the 2024 season’s Food Truck Friday at Lake Lanier Olympic Park (LLOP) is fast approaching.
The four-course Food Truck Friday Series, sponsored by the City of Gainesville, Georgia, returns at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, offering attendees a generous lineup of food and beverage trucks to choose from.
“Food Truck Friday is our most anticipated spring and summer series at Lake Lanier Olympic Park,” said Tourism Director Robyn Lynch. “Look for great live music, a variety of food trucks and kids’ activities.”
The following food trucks are expected at the August event: Tap It Growlers, offering beer and wine; Downtown Drafts, also offering beer and wine; Bill’s Grills on Wheels, offering American classics; Make My Plate!, offering wings and loaded fries; Carniceria Tapatia, offering a fusion of Mexican, Latin and Spanish cuisines; My Vietnamese Food Mobile, offering deliciously authentic Vietnamese cuisine; Leather & Lace Coffee & Co., offering freshly brewed java and more; Lobster Dogs, offering lobster rolls and stuffed avocados; Azucar Cuban Cuisine, offering the best Cuban sandwiches; Paw Paws Peanuts, offering boiled peanuts and freshly squeezed lemonade; Brookton Catfish School, offering fried fish and chicken tenders; Peyton's Pie Co., offering woodfired pizza; All Around the World, offering dishes inspired from all around the globe; Magnolia Willow Farms, offering pound cakes, cinnamon rolls and more; Juke N Jive Creamery and Chill On Wheels, offering creamy, melt-in-your-mouth scoops of ice cream; and Yummy Sweets, offering sweet tooth-approved confections.
Now with a couple seasons of Food Truck Friday under her belt, LLOP Special Events Manager Morgan Wingler said she’s looking forward to one last helping of the community-favorite event.
“We have great vendors eager to come back and some fun new additions,” Wingler said. “It really is a great way to wind down the week with a relaxing evening on our plaza.”

Singer-songwriter Ivan Duke and Friends will take the stage from 5:30-8:45 p.m. to energize the crowd, getting them on their feet and dancing to the beat. According to Duke's website, ivanduke.com, the musician has played with many different artists, including Bob Burns, the drummer from Lynyrd Skynyrd; Mark Wills, Grand Ole Opry member; Jack Green; Narvel Felts, Sun Studio recording artist and Rockabilly Hall of Fame member; Bertie Higgins, who recorded "Key Largo"; and Daron Norwood, among others. Duke has also opened shows for artists like Travis Tritt, Mark Chesnutt and Brooks & Dunn.

Gypsy Cowboy, a clothing retailer for men and women; and sponsor Window Nation, window replacement experts, will also have an on-site presence.
Park away from the hustle and bustle at New Horizons Lanier Park, located at 675 White Sulphur Road, and shuttle to and from the event between 4:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Unfortunately, no animals can be transported via the private shuttles. Service animals are allowed.
