116 South Bench St., known as The Owl House, is a unique 900 square-foot commercial building turned residence with a rich history. Built around 1880, it originally served as a warehouse for several Main Street businesses and later as a carriage house. The building was converted into a residence in the 1980s. Its name comes from the frosted windows depicting owls.

The Bench Street level includes an entryway, a full bath, a kitchen, and an enclosed porch that serves as the dining area. The lower level features an office, a utility space, a bedroom, a full bath, and an exit to the courtyard. The restoration highlights the building's historical charm with restored woodwork and exposed joists. Additionally, elements such as the hoist hole, used to lift heavy merchandise between floors, reflect the building's commercial past.
What an amazing life this old building has had and still has today. The Owl house is available as an airbnb.
