If you're local to the Perry County area, be sure to stop by New Blooms Greenhouse for mums and other fall decor. They had a big variety of pumpkins and gourds when I was there yesterday.
These mums were only $5 each when you buy 5 or more! Just $6 in lesser quantities. They had other sizes too with great prices.

Jim and I hope you are having a great Labor Day weekend and spending time with the people you love.

We are lucky enough to live near Little Buffalo State Park and for years have enjoyed the park for walks and fishing; and more recently Jim has taken to kayaking. It was a gorgeous evening!

Jim and I are back at Cast Away Cottage for the day. While he's doing some roof maintenance, I decided the outside needs a wash down. I'm not sure I'll get to it all today, but it'll better than when I started. We do our best to keep Cast Away clean inside and out for our guests so you can just relax and enjoy your stay.

Many areas of Potter County were devastated by the flood waters today. Thankfully we had no damage from the rain here at Cast Away. We were briefly without power a few times and are currently without water as the Borough of Galeton has experienced a water main break. These little inconveniences do not compare to what many others experienced throughout Pennsylvania today. Tonight we're thinking about those affected.

The rain has stopped here, but the water is still flowing down from the mountain.

This was our little babbling brook that is sometimes completely dry. It became a small river. The neighbor's driveway too. I hope it's not too much damage or clean up for them. It's much slower now, but still A LOT of water.

It's really coming down at Cast Away as I'm sure it is wherever you are in PA.

Jim opted to head home last night with our kiddo so he didn't have to travel in this today. We have a lot of localized flooding around Liverpool this morning too.

Luckily the rain stayed light enough today that we were able to get out and enjoy views of the PA Grand Canyon. We checked out their new visitor center and gift shop, too.

We ended the day at Gary's Putter Golf & Jiffy Pup Restaurant. Their course is awesome and very well kept. Abi won a free game of golf on the last hole! The boys fed the fish in the pond. Then we had dinner and ice cream, of course! Check them out next time you're in the area.

This week I'm at Cast Away with my mom, sister and nephews. The boys wanted to go to the Kinzua Bridge yesterday. The views are beautiful any time of the year and they had fun at the visitors center with all the hands-on displays.

Jim and our kiddo made it up late last night. Today we plan on checking out the new visitor center at the Leonard Harrison State Park.

We've heard this animal from Cast Away's deck and we've seen them in our travels in Potter County, but this is the first time we've gotten one on camera. Pretty cool!
