This is a reminder that Computer Society will be holding a Computer Building Lab on Friday (3/24) in room D4 @ 4:30-6:45. I hope that everyone who has any interest in learning this skill will join us. It's going to be fun.

If you plan on attending, I encourage you to take this survey, which will help us narrow down the topics we will focus on.

If you plan on attending this workshop, answer these questions to improve the experience. We will be covering all of these topics in the lab, but will focus on the topics that get the most votes.

Hey STKCS members,

Just want to confirm that our Thursday meeting will take place in room D-17 @4:30pm. We will have all the Raspberry P*s hooked up and ready to go. It'll be a very simple lab, but extremely helpful in understanding how you'll approach your future pi projects.

10/19/2016

Hey there everyone,

I am so sorry about the late email.

I am so happy to say that we have got our amazing raspberry pies. I know you all are as excited to play with it as I am. I cant wait either. So to join me in my excitement, please come to F201 tomorrow the 20th October at 4:30 PM.

I hope to see all of you there please do come.

Thank you so much,
On behalf of the Computer Society board,
Raj Shah

P.S. Again don't hesitate to bring your friends, all are welcome. Also if you signed up and still did not get the email please send me an email at [email protected].

10/13/2016

Hey everyone,

First of all I am extremely sorry for the late news,

Unfortunately we will not have a meeting today 13th October. I am as devastated as you all are. I know we all were pumped for the pi and I had to come in and be like no, stop.

We need to cancel the meeting because of two reasons. One as much as we are excited, its not gonna be a great help that we don't have enough pies to play with yet. And secondly, the midterms are on the corner, so before they turn and come to catch us we need to prepare for them.

I hope you are all doing great in your exams,

Thank you so much for understanding,
On behalf of the Computer Society Board,
Raj Shah

10/05/2016

Hey everyone,

If you are all starting to freak out about the mid-terms, we are here to make you relax a bit. I know all the professors are talking about it and trust me I am a bit scared too.

So, lets send the pressure to the holiday and lets take a trip to the technology Island. The flight is at 4:30 tomorrow, which is the 6th October and the terminal is F201. I hope you are all there. The trip will include, extreme fun and knowledge.

All the weird talks aside, in tomorrows meeting we will talk about some of the usage of raspberry pi and we will also discuss the arcade cabinet project.

Again, the meeting is tomorrow October the 6th at 4:30 in F201. I hope to see all of you there,

Thank you so much

On behalf of the Computer Society,
Raj Shah

P.S. Again if I missed anyone in the email list please send me an email at [email protected] and I will add you to it ass soon as possible and feel free to bring your friends in.

09/28/2016

Hey everyone,

How is it going? This is just to let you guys know about the meetings and its objectives.

We will be having our second meeting this Thursday at 4:30 in the same room F201. I hope to see most of you there. We will talk technology of course, however with all that we will talk about the arcade cabinet project. I am sure you are all pumped about it. I am as well.

Unfortunately, we haven't received the raspberry pies yet, however we will get started without them by just thinking about how we would like to create all that good stuff.

We will also talk about some of the other uses of the raspberry pi and maybe good ways we can use them. So, get ready because the ride will be much more exciting.

Again I hope to see all of you at the meeting tomorrow.

Thank you,
On behalf of the Computer Society E-Board,
Raj Shah

P.S. please forgive me if I couldn't reach all of you, I couldn't read the names and the e-mail IDs properly. So, if you would like to get in the e-mail list, please send an e-mail saying that you would, on [email protected]. Thank you so much again.

09/21/2016

Hey there everyone,

I hope you are all doing great. My name Raj Shah, the secretary of the computer society. This is just to remind you all that the first meeting will be on Thursday the 22nd at 4:30, in the room F201. We will discuss the ideas for this semester and we will also provide you all with more detail on the main project of the semester which is the Arcade Machine. There will also be pizza. I hope to see all of you there.

Enjoy the rest of your night I will see you all tomorrow.

Thank you,
Raj Shah

Hey there everyone,

I hope the start of the semester wasn't too rough and even if it was we are here to make it better.

We, the Computer Society board members, have took our time this semester to think through some of the events. Of course we will talk in detail, over some pizza on our first meeting. Which will be in F201 at 4:30 on Thursday the 22nd. The first and the main project we are thinking about this semester is, making an Arcade machine, in which you can have all of those classic games and you can play just like in arcades, with joysticks and buttons. Also, don't worry we will make sure that we have enough for people to work in groups, we don't want you to just sit there and not enjoy the creation of the great Arcade Machine. I know you are all as excited as we are.

So once again don't forget Thursday the 22nd 4:30 in F201. I hope to see all of you there.

Also, for the get Involved fair, we will be right with the Gaming club. We love gaming as much as you all love, and we will have a sign-up sheet there for you to sign up for the notifications and emails.

Thank you,
Computer Society Team
