We are searching for a few outgoing individuals who like working with people, speaking in public, and teaching about Galveston’s unique history. Teaching experience is helpful but not necessary. Tour guides lead guests on an 80min tour of various routes through the Strand and Red Light districts, discussing the historical aspects of each . The Strand tour brings in a lot of the supernatural and the storm of 1900. The Red Light district tour focuses on the history and the women who worked this trade.
Guides may dress in costume though it’s not a requirement. The shifts are all evening/nights, at 6,8, and 10pm with optional midnight tours. This is a good job for a day worker, teacher, substitute. The pay is 30$ per tour under 10 guests and 50$ per tour over 10 guests, with any potential tips.
Our company has two guides leaving after Halloween so there will be plenty of shifts available.
Paid training once a candidate makes a commitment to learn a tour, as well as learning additional tours. The more you know, the more shifts are available, and learning a second tour is a lot easier after the first.
The first step is to observe a tour for free, so reply with your info and intentions so we can set up a time to observe a tour.
