I am looking for some stand up Taxi, Shuttle, or other Vehicle for hire drivers to meet over at

City Hall located at:
823 25th st. (2nd floor)
Galveston, Texas 77550

On September 14, 2017 at 5 O'clock pm. The City will be hosting its monthly Council meeting. The meeting will consist of prior agenda details but what affects you will only be disclosed amongs Management and Council. There have been an unannounced addendum added to the City Ordinance that affects every Taxi and Shuttle company in Galveston.

The addendum was unanimously passed on June 25,.2017. I spoke with the City Manager about the decision and he shared with me that the new addendum was posted in City hall and on the City of Galveston website.

It is not the City of Galveston's responsibility to notify business owner of any changes made to an Ordinance. As long as it is posted, after it is passed and approved by Council, then it becomes law within 72 hours.

It is Imperative that we be notified of any laws and; or ordinances that are placed on the agenda that could potentially affect our ways of operating, or livelihood. The ordinance addendum that I am speaking of intels Shuttle service Hails and Prearranged pickups. There is also a new junction merger between City of Galveston's Island Transit and Houston Metro systems.
As of September 11, 2017, Island Transit will start transporting passengers off the Island to Downtown Houston for $9. This is part of a merger agreement to give affordable fares to those passengers that can not afford the traditional means to get back and forth to and from Houston.
This will gravely affect the income of those who are operating under the Operating Authority of Taxi, Limo, Shuttle, and TNC in our area.

I encourage all of those who may feel the need to come out and address your concerns on these matters. "YOU CAN NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT INWHICH YOU'RE NOT WILLING TO CONFRONT! "

In my personal opinion, I believe that the City is forcing all transportation companies out so that it may utilize its own resources to minimize the ongoing nagging of Taxi and Shuttle companies and allow a more befitting element to be put in place that wards of the headaches that they have been dealing with thus far.

So please, I ask again, That those who would like to learn more or want to express their opinions or concerns about the changes be there at 5pm on September 14, 2017.
