Enjoying the view at Nick’s before popping back in at Don't Be Jelly Galveston Retreat to finish repairs from Beryl. The breeze is fantastic!

So turns out we did have some pretty extensive water damage inside from Beryl.

With everyone else trying to get repairs done at the same time, it was looking like we’d have to wait weeks to get the repairs done. Luckily, I have a wonderful brother-in-law who was available and able to help AND no mold had grown. Should have it back up and running by next week!

Who wants a visit to the beach? Galveston is back OPEN!

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to see how Don’t Be Jelly faired in the storm. We are grateful to say that everything appears good!

The power is out for the entire area and may remain so for several days or even weeks. We’ll be monitoring the situation & heading down as soon as possible to check things out in person.

Until then we will be sending those in the area without power our support and well wishes, particularly for the law enforcement, medical staff, and disaster relief crews who are working around the clock to return the island to normal.

We have a lovely family vacationing at Don’t Be Jelly for the 4th. They’re going to have such a fun time!

Getting the beach house ready to receive guests was hard. It took way longer than expected & nothing was easy.

But the daily walks on the beach & the sound of the coastal breeze made it possible to reset. Much like those who come to visit will experience whether they come for counseling & healing or for rest and vacation.

While I’m in Round Rock helping therapists learn EMDR, Tony Pirri is continuing the renovations in Galveston at Don't Be Jelly Galveston Retreat.

He snagged some pics from his morning walk on the beach.

This is why we chose this location for our EMDR retreats. Imagine letting go of old hurts and negative patterns from your past then being able to recover with views like these.

Popped back into Round Rock for EMDR Training. I absolutely LOVE helping to train up therapists in EMDR, but missing these sunrises!

Going back Saturday to put the finishing touches on the beach house and open it up for EMDR Intensive Retreats and family vacations. Can’t wait!

It’s a subtle change in the main bedroom but I like it! Sea salt is such a calming tone for a bedroom.

We’re making progress over here! Fireplace surround is done, just missing trim and the mantle. One bathroom tile is complete. The second is ready for paint. The third took FOUR days to demo ( ) so we’ll start tiling in there tomorrow.

We found some beautiful original artwork in our beach house…in really terribly old fashioned frames. (Think 80’s teal plus metallics, 5 shades of brown, and worse).

Throw them out? No way! We’re revamping them instead!

Renovations have begun at Don't Be Jelly, our Galveston getaway. We can't wait to bring a little modern style into our home away from home.
