Tour Information and Guidelines

The Red Light District Tour of Galveston is a walking tour with a route that covers approximately 12 city blocks. Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for walking.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online in advance (link below) or at the start of the tour (cash only). Advance Reservations are required for cash/onsite tickets, and both online ticket purchases and cash reservations must be made 2 hours prior to the start of the tour. Please Contact Us to make your advance reservation or to inquire about tour availability after the cut-off time(not guaranteed).

The tour meets on the north steps of the old Galveston Post Office at 601 25th Street (Corner of 25th & Church). North steps located on Church Street side.

Tours begin promptly at 7pm from May-September and 5pm from October-April. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes early to ensure ample time to park and/or purchase onsite tickets.

Only street parking is available, but it is free after 6pm. Ideally, look for parking on Church Street between 24th and 26th Streets.

Depending on crowd size, the tour runs between 1½-2 hours and ends just one block away from the starting point—only a short walk back to your vehicle after the tour.

We recommended that you bring along drinking water and mosquito repellent during warmer months.

Although the tour route is not ideal for those with limited mobility, tour guides will do their best to be accommodating and offer assistance along the way. We ask that all other tour participants be patient and understanding as we try to ensure a great experience for everyone.

Since we are committed to providing you with the best tour experience possible, tours are weather-permitting and will be canceled if conditions are less than ideal. As a rule, if weather forecasts indicate a chance of rain MORE than 30% or temperatures LOWER than 55 degrees by 5pm on the day of the tour, the tour will automatically be canceled, and any online ticket holders will be given the option to reschedule or receive a refund of the ticket price minus a small processing fee.

Due to mature content, this tour is strongly recommended for adults and older teens only. Tour content will not be censored for younger audiences, and teens and children must be accompanied by an adult. Discounted tickets for children are not offered, and the purchase of a full-price (adult) ticket for a child serves as parent/guardian’s acknowledgment of this disclaimer.

Photographs along the tour are allowed and encouraged.

Signed copies of Kimber’s books Galveston’s Red Light District: A History of The Line ($23.99) and Galveston Seawall Chronicles ($21.99) will be available for purchase (cash or credit) at the conclusion of the tour.
