Yesterday, we said a heartfelt (and slightly teary) goodbye to a true Dunes Realty legend. After 35+ years, Elizabeth Bayer is officially retiring! 🎉

Elizabeth wasn’t just an incredible accountant (seriously, she once sent our GM to the bank with a one-cent deposit—penny scotch-taped and all to keep our books perfect! 🤯). She was also an amazing friend, party planner, craft night MVP, and all-around ray of sunshine to everyone—employees, homeowners, and guests alike.

So far, so good... lots of rain and a few pieces of siding down, but nothing major. We won’t know for sure until the 2:00 PM high tide, so keep your fingers crossed!

So far, so good... while we have one more high tide to go (at 12:54 PM today,) the impact so far has been much better than we’d hoped.... mostly minor/superficial damage, and all of Garden City Beach and Surfside Beach still have power. The wind has clocked around and is now out of the southeast, but it is substantially weaker. If we can make it through this afternoon’s high tide, we should be open for business tomorrow morning. We’re going to try to contact all of today’s arrivals as soon as possible, but are optimistic that we’ll be able to get you all in soon!

The first high tide of the storm has come and gone, and the west wind did its job very nicely. So far, so good, but there are still a few more high tides to go before we’re in the clear. Keep your fingers crossed!
