Make sure to have a way to get a warning especially overnight when you’re sleeping! Go to your App Store and search “WPDWX”. Download our weather app and make sure to turn on location and notifications. The Facebook Live I did last night is still on target if you want a more specific update now. Residents of the Town of Surfside Beach have repeatedly spoken out against the use of fireworks within the town. As a family-friendly, autism-friendly destination, our town seeks to be a place where all can enjoy their time peacefully.

This week the Town of Surfside Beach adopted new firework regulations. The Town of Surfside Beach will continue to prohibit the use of fireworks during times and locations not specified below.

The town now permits the discharge of fireworks on the beach only on the 4th of July and New Year's Eve.
On the 4th of July, fireworks are permitted from sunset to 11 p.m., on the beach only.
On New Year's Eve (Dec. 31), fireworks are permitted from sunset to 1 a.m., Jan. 1, on the beach only.

The use of fireworks is not allowed at any other location and any other time.

Additionally, fireworks may only be discharged in the area between the mean high-water mark eastward to the Atlantic Ocean. It shall be unlawful to discharge fireworks within five hundred (500) feet of the Town's fishing pier

The Town of Surfside Beach Police Department will enforce these regulations immediately.
