An awesome combo 2hr Walking & Boating history tour of Bath, the City of Ships! In partnership with this is a great history tour which involves an hour of walking around historic downtown, getting the historic background from Meg and then jumping on board with us for a cruise down the Kennebec River looking at lighthouses, marine life, and historic shipbuilding yards to include present day destroyer maker Bath Iron Works! www.MaineExperienceGuideService.com

Kennebec River fog signal station.
Built in 1914 after a big steam ship ran a ground there two years earlier in the fog.
The singnal sound was a bell, it was rung by means of a clockwork counter weight system that had to be rewound every 4 hours. Bell signals were distinguished by the number of strokes and length of time between them. This signal was two strokes every twenty seconds.
One of many cool things and multiple lighthouses we see on our daily lighthouse tours from Bath Maine. August and September are our two most beautiful months come and enjoy it with us!!

Seguin Lighthouse was commissioned by President George Washington. That same year, the first tower was erected. It’s located apx. 2.5 miles off shore. it is the second-oldest of Maine’s coastal lighthouses, and the only lighthouse in the state housing a first-order Fresnel lens.
