Gatlinburg Vacation Things To Do
If you are planning a visit, check out the details from a recent guest on the activities their family did while here! Thanks Patti for all the info! ā¤ļø
The Peace and Quiet home in Gatlinburg is amazing! The attention to detail in this house is exceptional. From the screened in porch, to the well stocked, beautiful kitchen, to the game room, our family and extended family of 9 enjoyed every room. The ages of our group ranged from 78-13 and everyone enjoyed staying at the Peace and Quiet House!
Some things we did in the area that we would recommend:
The Island in Pigeon Forge--The Island is an outdoor space that holds unique shops, restaurants and rides for the kids. You can also do a moonshine tasting at Ole Smoky Mountain distillery. This tasting is VERY reasonably priced, $5, and then upon completion you receive a $5 coupon off of a purchase. At the Island, our family also enjoyed the sky wheel ride and the kids liked the ropes course, bumper cars, mirror maze and laser obstacle course. The best part about the Island? Parking is FREE! One tip we'd give about parking in downtown Gatlinburg is to park at the parking lot right as enter downtown. When you are ready to leave, you don't have to fight traffic. Parking is $20 at this lot and we found that it's the same everywhere down there.
Drive the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail! We loved this driving trail that has plenty of pull offs for creek exploring, scenic pictures and picnic spots. Make sure you purchase a parking pass for the park($15/car on rec.gov or at kiosks in the park) if you plan to stop longer than 15 minutes. To get to the Roaring Fork Motor Trail, go downtown Gatlinburg on the main parkway and turn left at traffic light #8. Follow the Historic Nature Trail Road to the Cherokee Orchard entrance to the national park. The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a one way, loop road so you can only go in one way and come out one way. It is closed in the winter. The drive was incred
Anyone recognize these porch pirates? No, it wasnāt foodā¦trash bagsā¦that I really needed! Hence the language š
