A new addition to the new pool house! Grab some pics with the kids and compare their height to black bears. Lots of interesting trivia about them too!

Check out our new bear wall at the indoor pool house! These delightful bears were created by our owner and Board Member, Angela Wiggins. There is room for people to stand on both sides of the ruler to compare their height to a bear. I believe there will be a lot of photos taken here, and the Gatlinburg Summit name will be part of them.

Bears are very active now! Please remember to enjoy them from a distance and DO NOT feed them!!

We had 6 bears enjoying an afternoon nap yesterday in one of our trees.

We are very sad to report that TN Wildlife Resource Agency officers had to capture and euthanize one of the bears that lived around our property. This was devastating to the staff and condo community. This bear was fed human food by tourists, and had grown accustomed to being around people, rather than fear them. Please DO NOT approach or feed bears. You could literally kill them by doing so. Enjoy our wildlife at a distance so you and they stay safe.

Baskins Creek Falls is located at the end of the Baskins Creek Trail, a lovely scenic hike not very far from town. It has two trailheads to choose from. You can access both from the one-way Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. HIKING TIP: Use the 2nd trailhead both in and out for a much less strenuous climb. #strsharesunday #hikingthesmokies
