Come stay with us for an adventurous outdoor vacation, a restful respite from the hustle of daily life or some of both! Timber Valley Chalet provides 4 seasons of rest, relaxation and outdoor fun. It is a 3 bd/2ba +basement house that sleeps 14 people. With 5G wifi, cable, full kitchen, fireplace, deck, firepit, backyard that opens up to the woods…you will have everything you need. There is easy a

ccess to all outdoor activities: ski (downhill & x-country), golf, snowmobile, fish, hunt, hike, bike, boat, swim, atv, snowshoe, ice skate, tube, sled…directly from the chalet or nearby in the Ga***rd area. Centrally located in the top of the Mitt, it is also an easy drive to much of northern Michigan. The chalet is just minutes to multiple golf courses, lakes, parks and trails. It is less than 15 minutes to skiing at Otsego Club & Treetops and less than 40 minutes to Boyne Mountain & Shanty Creek. Michaywé community amenities include free use of the pool, hot tub, groomed cross country ski trails, tennis & pickle ball courts, Opal Lake Park & Beach House, plus paid access to golf and dining. The chalet is less than a 15 minute drive to downtown Ga***rd where you can find restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, groceries, bakeries, the farmers market, a bookstore, Otsego County Sportsplex, and more. Ga***rd parks include the beautiful trails of Aspen Park and the majestic elk herd in City Elk Park. We are located just over 5 minutes to Otsego Lake, with Arbutus Beach and nearby shops & restaurants. Explore the Pigeon River State Forest, North Central State Trail, North Country Trail, countless lakes and rivers, and 500+ miles of northern Michigan snowmobile trails. Some of the best cross country ski resorts are located in this area. XC Ski right from the chalet on Michaywe trails…or nearby in Ga***rd at Pine Baron Pathway, Otsego Ski Resort or Treetops. All are within 12 minutes of the chalet. Cross Country Ski Headquarters, Forbush and Hanson Hills are also wonderful and are within a 40 minute drive. The outdoor activities in the area are endless! Nestled in the woods, you can watch deer roam the forest, set out on snowshoes from the backdoor in the winter or ride bikes to the beach in summer. Nestled in the forest in the snow capital of the Lower Peninsula, Timber Valley Chalet is a winter retreat for every type of winter fun you can imagine. Downhill skiing, snowmobiling, tubing, ice fishing, snowshoing, ice skating…it’s all within minutes of the chalet. And for the days when cozy-ing up to a fire or roasting s’mores over a fire pit sounds more appealing, we’ve got you covered there as well. Every year in Michaywe (subdivision in which the chalet resides) does an Ice Box Derby where residents make their own sleds and compete for speed and creativity as they sled down the old ski hill in Michaywe. It’s the cutest thing. Today was a gorgeous day for it. ❤️

Ga***rd is the snow capitol of the lower peninsula and the winter activities are vast: skiing (downhill and cross country), snowshoeing, ice skating, tubing, dogsledding, sleigh rides, sledding and snowmobiling. There are over 500 miles of snowmobile trails that connect in Ga***rd!

Cozy up by the fireplace, make some hot cocoa, roast marshmallows on our fire pit and make some unforgettable winter Michigan memories. Our family loves this place so much and we hope you will too. Are you available this weekend and want to get up north for a winter getaway? Ga***rd will be getting 6-10 inches of snow between now and Friday and we have an opening at our cottage this weekend! Skiing, snowshoeing, tubing…all snow adventures should be great and we would love for someone take advantage of it. Just let me know! 🙂

Come experience the magic of winter in northern Michigan. Timber Valley Chalet, in Ga***rd, sits in the middle of ski country with Treetops and Otsego Ski Resorts only 12 minutes away and Boyne Mountain and Shanty Creek 40 minutes from the house. The Cross Country Ski Headquarters is only 30 minutes away and is where our family fell in love with cross country skiing. So beautiful. ❤️

In addition, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding are accessible right from the house. The chalet is nestled in the woods and deer are seen regularly running through the forest. As the snow capital of the Lower Penninsula, it is just magical up there and we honestly long to be there most of the year.

I will mention also that we actually have availability through Christmas Eve as well, in case anyone wants some time up there soon (and the dates are discounted for pre-Christmas).

Northern Michigan always puts on a spectacular display of colors!

Our family plans changed and now January 6-9 is open! Anyone want to sn**ch it up? Most of the rest of the winter weekends are booked so it may be your last chance!

Our winter getaway chalet sleeps up to 12 and is nestled in the woods with snowshoe and XC ski trails accessible from the house. Ski slopes are 12 minutes away and we’ve got some epic sledding hills right in the neighborhood. It’s magical up here in the winter. ❤️ Let me know if you have any questions!
