32-year-old Travis McClinton of Turbeville in Clarendon County said he caught a 40 pound Flathead fish in Black River.

“We first thought it was a gar fish until it came up. It’s the biggest fish I ever caught,” said McClinton.

He said they have a fishing group called ‘Pee Dee Outlaws’ that’s sponsored by Southside Outdoors.

“This is my favorite hobby and we would like to start a fishing camp for younger kids.”
