Farm & Forest Recovery Resource Days are informative resource fairs for farmers, foresters and agribusinesses that were impacted by events such as Hurricane Helene in South Carolina. This program is also appropriate and open to foresters and those in the timber industry impacted by the closure of International Paper. Over 20 state and federal agencies and private organizations will be in attendance to provide information about programs and resources that can support your farm's recovery. This week, the Leadership Georgetown County class met with local government agencies to discuss key topics, including the valuable roles these agencies play in benefiting Georgetown County, S.C. and their impact on the community. The discussions also explored the evolving landscape of public safety, community policing, and building trust. We extend our gratitude to the Georgetown County Airport, Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, Georgetown County Emergency Management Department, and all our panel speakers for supporting our Leadership initiatives and program through their participation.

A big congratulations to Chambe member, Benjamin's Bakery & Coffee Roasters on 30 years in business! The Georgetown County Chamber was pleased to attend the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the newly renovated Georgetown County Library on Cleland Street in Georgetown!

The updated facility now offers enhanced resources and community features, including expanded digital resources, quiet study areas, and a modernized children’s section designed to foster creativity and learning. The renovation also includes additional meeting spaces for events and workshops, making the library a versatile space for the entire community to gather, learn, and engage.
With these improvements, the Georgetown County Library is well-equipped to support the educational and informational needs of residents.

The Georgetown County Chamber staff joined in recognizing this wonderful small business and its contributions to the community. On Saturday, November 16, the celebration continues with a Canine Carnival and 20-Year Anniversary party featuring vendors, food trucks, agility and dock diving demos, raffles, and a silent auction.
