Delmarvalous Quilters focuses on education and community outreach. Show & Tell, Speakers, Sew Days Social time at 6:30.

Guild meets the Fourth Thursday of the month, January through October, at 7:00 P.M. Sew Days may begin at 9:00 on meeting days. No meeting in November (Thanksgiving) and holiday party in early December.

Barely enough energy today from the exciting Delmarvalous Quilters Christmas in August day. So much happening and so many joys and successes. Not to mention the chicken dinner hosted by its fantastic, hardworking, talented Board. Some cooked, Some catered....

So much more to come.

The 9-patch Challenge. Each participant was to use a 9-patch block. Only restricition was a certain size to be a Comfort Quilt. Each will be someone's treasure.

UPCOMING--Kits are cut and ready to sew! Come and join in the sew along for Quilts of Valor. July 25, 2024. 10:00-4:00. Bring your lunch and join us for dinner at Pizza Palace before the meeting. Delmarvalous is a major contributor to Quilts of Valor and your work is needed and appreciated.

Even non-sewists are welcome. Cutting, ironing, spreadng the snacks around are all very welcome contributions.

Sew Days are a trip! Delmarvalous was asked to help--and help we did. (Even non-quilters and sewists have a place in many projects.) Hug Bunny leader Mary Ann Dolan walked the group through from cuttng to completion.

Next Sew Day: July 25, 2024. Dedicated to Quilts of Valor although, as always, you can work on your own project. The QOV project is easy for beginners, lots of cutting, ironing and squaring up. All fabric provided for QOV. Bring your machine and sewing supplies.

The ever popular and productive Carol Jarboe had the stamina after teaching all morning to treat the guild to a past president's trunk show. Many quilts were classes that she taught. Enjoy the sea of colors and patterns.

Frantic sewing in the last class of the year at Southern DE School of the Arts. Some are looking forward to returning next year. Hopefully they will be able to get in a few stitches over the summer.

Afternoon and evening of listening to Past President Pat Hersl with tips and techniques from piecing to accuracy to applique. Other Past Presidents will be filling out our year. Remember--meeting days are Sew Days!

What's a CUTIE? Your admin aside, it's a fat 1/8 yd piece that is the brainchild of Cathy Anderson, owner-operator of Quilt Basket. The afternoon class was packed with those curious and enthralled. The machines were humming. The quilters smiling. It was a good thing.

What's happening at the Southern DE School of the Arts? We are getting finished projects. He was so tickled with his pajama pants that he put them on over his jeans and wore them. Bags large and small. Gaining skills.

Their machines are struggling, so they struggle. Any beginner working machine would be welcome.
