I love the fall on the Sassafras! Had a great three hour cruise with these folks today. They brought their out-of-town friends to show them the beauty of our river. Their cruise was followed by dinner at the Fishwhistle. We went to the mouth of the river with stops by Mt. Harmon Plantation and in Turners Creek. The weather was perfect. Come enjoy it while it lasts.

On this beautiful afternoon I took my small Boston Whaler out for a run. Stopped by their boat and visited with my friends, and "photographers", Wil and Eleanor. It was truly spectacular on the water today. Even saw a majestic eagle fishing as I was docking. The weather is supposed to continue to be great for the next several days. Book a cruise on Poor Dorothy and enjoy the weather with me.

A morning charter. Had a great time with this couple from Middletown, DE. Like me, they are big Philadelphia Eagles fans. We did see eagles today, the REAL thing!

This husband surprised his wife with a sunset cruise after dinner at the Fishwhistle. He told me that they have my rack card on their refrigerator and his wife had wanted to cruise on Poor Dorothy for a while. It was a beautiful evening on the water and after about two-thirds through the cruise, we realized that we knew people in common. Small world!

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday, due to the remnants of Hurricane Debby, the river was more than 2 ft over the marina docks. Thankfully all the boats at the Granary Marina, including Poor Dorothy, came out ok. The water receded overnight and although this video may not look like it, today was beautiful! This couple came down from the Philadelphia area. They sampled much of what Georgetown has to offer. They stayed at the Kitty Knight House, had dinners at The Fishwhistle and Deep Blue. Had breakfast at Sassafras Harbor Cafe and appetizers at Signals. And, oh yes, took a two-hour cruise with me.

These locals had visiting friends and decided to entertain them with a 2 hour cruise followed by lunch at Deep Blue at the Kitty Knight House. It was an interesting time on the water. We saw an eagle fighting with an osprey over a fish. Typically the osprey will win. My guest asked how I was able to set that up for them to see! We also went into Turners Creek to see the blooming American Lotus.
