What is the value in using a Travel Consultant?

I just got off the phone with a potential destination wedding client who wanted to know "Why should I book my destination wedding with you instead of going to expedia for my travel like I usually do? My friend recommended I call you, but it seems like more work and expedia is so easy."

My reply was, that's a great question, and I will have a similar question for you after I tell you all of the benefits. First, and foremost, I make the travel portion of your destination wedding as stress free as possible. I will work directly with your guests to get them booked, keep track of everyone who is attending, their reservation dates and room categories, and answer any and all questions they may have about the resort and their travel. I will send you bi-monthly reports on who has booked and who has requested quotes. I will also offer them a low deposit option, fee and interest free, and they can make payments completely at their convenience until about 6 weeks before travel. Not only does this make it easier on guests, but they don't have to wait to book and risk the resort being sold out. I can be your point of contact for all of the wedding details and be as hands on or hands off with that portion of your destination wedding. I can also have a website setup for you so that your guests can see more details about your special day and the resort, and they can even book right on that page and be included in your group. Truth be told, though, I would rather they contact me directly so I can make sure their reservations are error free. Now, my question to you. Why would you not want to book your destination wedding with me?

She laughed and asked me to reach out to the resort about what dates are available for her wedding.

Welp! 2020 has been a roller coaster!

My name is Lyndsey. I am the owner of Back Pocket Travel. I'm sure it goes without saying that 2020 has presented a unique set of challenges across the globe. Amongst them, is the travel and tourism industry.

I started working in travel a long time ago as a way to help others explore the world we live in. I am so passionate about travel and love working with my clients, whether they are first time travelers or seasoned globetrotters. I hope I have many years ahead of me of travel planning!
