On the hunt for adventure?

Look no further than Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Machu Picchu was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983 and gained the title of one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a 2007 poll.

Whether you want to hike to this magical city or take a luxurious train, you’ll be mesmerized when this ancient city comes into view. Machu Picchu treks can be quite epic so don’t plan them alone-- I am here to help!

One of my favorite things to do when visiting another country is to try its street food. While food trucks have become super trendy in the last decade or so, they really are the best way to see how the locals eat. Street food is creative, authentic, messy, and dang good!

This is me in Trogir, Croatia, in 2012, enjoying a Ćevapčići, per the recommendation of our local guide. This was a pita filled with sausage and some to-die-for sauce made out of eggplants and peppers. And it was SO GOOD that I think about it to this day. I even once found a recipe to try to recreate it at home.

Pro honeymoon tip coming at you! 💍🥂

Before you pick your honeymoon location, consider the ratio of time you’ll spend traveling versus the time you’ll actually spend ON your honeymoon.

If you’ve only got a week to spend somewhere exotic and romantic with your sweetie to celebrate your new life together, take into consideration that some of the more far-flung destinations that are popular right now (I’m looking at you, Maldives!) also includes a pretty long flight, and possibly 2-3 connection flights depending on where you’re flying out from.

So what should you do?

I’m always a fan of spending as much time ON vacation as possible to make sure you can fully enjoy yourself and soak it all up before it’s time to head back to reality.

So if you can only carve out a week, I recommend exploring places closer to home.

But if you can carve out 10-14 days, even 3 weeks to a month, then far flung it is!

Either way, your itinerary should be tailored to the experience you want — that includes deciding how long you actually need to *truly* enjoy the full experience.

Saying yes to everything 2025 has to offer:

✅ A spontaneous flight to somewhere unforgettable - YES

2025 can and SHOULD be the year you say yes to more of the things you’ve always wanted to do and, since my brain thinks in travel, my mind immediately goes to hopping on planes and taking trips.

So this is me nudging you to say yes to travel too!

Whether that’s finally touching down in a destination you’ve always wanted to visit, taking a spontaneous trip to switch up the routine, or even just booking a cute hotel for a weekend trip.

Here’s an idea 💡: This spring, skip the crowds and hop on a river cruise instead to see some of the most charming, and often missed, parts of Europe.

It's time to get lost. No, really! While I wouldn't encourage this just anywhere, Venice, Italy is best seen without any plans. Wander, meander, amble, whatever you want to call it - don't go with a giant list of must-dos. Instead, take at least one day in Venice to just walk and, yes, get lost in the alleys and canals. Don't worry - you'll find your way out again!

Getting lost lets you find true adventures, like the little mask and costume shop we found in a hidden courtyard where the mask maker spent an hour with us letting us try on her creations, or the quiet streets off the tourist path where food is half the price and locals shout at each other from their windows. Yes, it's OK to visit some of the city's famous sights or even hop on a gondola ride, but don't forget to get yourself lost in Venice's alleys for a little while.
