Terrain Photo Catalog: High pressure is winding down and precipitation is on the horizon. Freezing levels will continue to rise with the onset of precip before falling over the weekend. We’ve had an amazing couple weeks of riding with mostly stable weather & Avalanche conditions. Things are about to change.

1 change to track are common rock slabs that create Glide Avalanches. In the Bagley Lakes Cirque there are common areas that produce glides. These zones have a snowpack thick enough to cling on the slabs but thin enough to release with weakening from rising temps and rain.

While these photos are just a select few from Monday Dec 2 many other glide paths exist. Take the time to create a terrain photo catalog, track the weather, and observe the changes.

We have some holiday weekend free events here at Guided Exposure HQ in Glacier WA.

❄️ Join us on November 29th @ 7p.m. for a short film and conversation about skiing in Greenland, the role climate has played in civilization on the worlds largest island, and the unique traditions that carry on today. No registration required.

❄️ November 30th @ 6pm is a Northwest Avalanche Center NWAC Avy Awareness Discussion. This 90 minute introductory presentation provides a basic approach to managing risk, how to access an avalanche and mountain weather forecast, and recognize basic signs of avalanche danger.

Our Greenland group pic after riding off the summit of the highest peak on the island. Stunning landscape with an amazing group. Are you coming with us in 2025 or 2026?

Guided Exposure offers 4 different arctic ski trips, 1 subarctic, and a southern continental glacier ski trips. Most often these remote areas are accessed by small prop plane or by ship.

Skiing onto sea ice keeping your eyes peeled for seals, polar bears, or penguins is truly an earthly experience.

Our group guided days are a low price entry point into the world of ski guiding. Choose one of the days when the snow is good and get paired with others for a day of riding the best snow in the best terrain on a given day.

Groups up to 4 will seek out descents around Table Mountain, Ptarmigan Ridge, Mount Herman, and if possible zones like Slate, Barometer, or Mt Anne are on the table.

Come out with us on a low budget and low commitment trip when the snow is top notch or just to get out for rip sometime.
