In Judaism, the 9th of Av is a minor holiday but one with a lot of history and deep significance. It is a day in which several calamitous events took place, but this year, we have some good news.

Just days before the 9th of Av, archeologists found remains of the original walls of Jerusalem from BEFORE the Babylonians destroyed it and took the people away into captivity!!

We pray that airlines would also lift restrictions and ease your flying experience. While Israel still has to work out what it expects tourists to do before coming to Israel in order to receive a visa, we are confident that your time once in the Land will be awesome and life changing as always.

For several months (around October 2020), I have believed that Israeli tourism would restart in the Summer of 2021. The below article says new flights will be added by El Al Airlines at the end of June. This is a great sign that tourism may restart in early Summer and not late Summer. We still find ourselves waiting on many important details and everyone must be clear that the rules WILL change even after tourism restarts. There will be experimentation on what rules help and which are silly. There will be silly rules and we will adjust as the lawmakers get over fears and realize which rules are silly and which are helpful. But at least we will be trying to reopen and trying to energize the economy... At least you'll be able to visit us again!!!!
