I just spent 3 wonderful days aboard the brand new RCCL’s Utopia of the Seas for its naming party. I was invited because I sit on our local ASTA Board. Tomorrow she will set sail with her first public voyage.

She is truly a magical ship! She holds up to 5,668 passengers. There are lots of areas to spread out however. Plenty of pools to play (Deck 15) or relax in (Solarium). You can eat great food in the main dining rooms where your waiter knows your name or one of the specialty restaurants. There is never a lack of things to do either; from the casino, to any number of shows like the ice show or the aqua theatre performance (truly amazing)! If you want to get a bit of shopping done, that is available too. Maybe you want sing a bit in the karaoke bar or learn the salsa in the Bolero, there is no shortage of what you can find.

Should you want to sail on her too, she is sailing from Poet Canaveral for this season on 3 and 4-day short cruises. Contact me and give her a try, you won’t regret it!

I did a thing this week….our entire Arizona Chapter of ASTA sailed on the brand new Utopia of the Seas for the private naming party. We were able to meet many of the executives for RCCL, plus had so much fun! I’m back on land now and am sharing this post with a few more shortly. Happy Global Travel Advisors Day to all my colleagues! What does this mean? It means that we as agents and agency owners work very hard to make your travel as seamless as possible. We work tirelessly behind the scenes for you. Keep in mind, many of us have special relationships with destination management companies, tourism offices, and supplier contacts around the world. We cultivate these relationships so that when we plan your travel, we work with contacts that we trust as though we are planning it for our own family's. We have connections that the general public does not have access too.

How would you feel if after spending hours preparing a proposal of options for your potential clients, they came back and said never mind, we have changed our mind/ we are going to book a rental property/we decided to go with Costco travel? This means you have just completed some hours of work for free, unless you charge a fee of some sort. This could be a plan-to-go fee (deposit that might be applied to last payment) or some sort of agency admin fee to cover your time if they decide not to book through you. Would you expect your plumber or electrician to do work on your home for free? We are a small business too. Please treat your travel advisor or agency with respect and acknowledge them for their efforts. This field is our choice for employment. Please respect that choice.

Each year we make time for at least one family tradition. Ours is a sweet bread called Potica bread. It comes from Oder generations in Yugoslavia and usually made at Christmas & some times Easter. This batch made 71 loaves. Miss you mom, thank you for teaching us grandma’s recipe.

Luxury at its best. A few locations to have a ceremony could be the small terrace, the pool deck, the beautiful bar area. The decor reflects that of a chic European resort. There are sharks everywhere in their design to reflect their support to protect the sharks.
