With each ticket you purchase—one ticket for $25 or a 5-pack of tickets for $100—you’re helping enhance education in our schools. Check out this epic, championship tug-of-war match up, concluding our 6th-grade Field Day fun. Congratulations to Ms. Erin Johnston's 6th Grade Class!
I wanted to share with you an opportunity to make a BIG Impact this #GivingTuesday with the Goddard Education Foundation (GEF) and explain how we partner with the GEF to enhance the educational experience of our students here at Discovery.
The Goddard Education Foundation has a commitment from an anonymous alumnus, who will match funds donated by individuals until December 31, 2022, up to $50,000.00. That means for every dollar you donate to the GEF today, another dollar will be donated on your behalf, doubling the impact your contribution will have on our students.
The Goddard Education Foundation is a non-profit, 501c3 organization, established in 2014, to serve as the direct support organization to the Goddard Public Schools. Discovery has benefited from receiving 5 Innovative Teacher Grants, and we have more projects pending that could be implemented this Spring.
The Foundation provides ALL of our educators the ability to DREAM BIG and apply for up to $1000.00 for an innovative classroom program or school-wide initiative that is above and beyond what would be possible with our available funds.
The GEF has received over 30 Teacher Grant Applications for projects that could be implemented in the Spring, 2023 Semester. We want them funded to impact the 400+ students in our school, AND to earn the full $50,000.00 matching contribution from the anonymous donor.
How can you make an impact?
Please visit https://goddardeducationfoundation-bloom.kindful.com/?campaign=1223723 to make a secure, tax-deductible donation to help us reach our goal. You can also mail a check to the Goddard Education Foundation at 201 S. Main, St., Goddard, KS 67052 before the end of the year. For more information about the GEF, please visit www.goddardef.org.
Discovery is proud to partner with the Goddard Education Foundation and grateful for your support this Holiday Season. Please take a few minutes to watch and share this VIDEO of what makes our school community a Family.
Students in Mrs. Redfield's Social Studies class used Skittles to simulate surplus in different civilizations. Each color of Skittle represented a different job early Mesopotamians might have had. They worked together to balance their community. The kids did amazing and had so much fun!
When the kids are away and storms are on their way, the teachers will play….pickleball! 🤣
Coach Harrison and Coach Watson are up on the roof again for an exciting announcement and a challenge for their students! ❤️ Can we do it?! Will Coach Harrison have to spend TWO nights wondering if there are bugs on the roof?!?! 😂
If your student hasn't signed up for their online giving page, you can do so right here: http://www2.heart.org/goto/discoveryintks

If you listen closely as you pass the lost and found table, you can hear the tears of items missing their owners... 😭
Help us save some tears! Do you recognize any of these things and think they might belong to your student? Let us know (email [email protected]) and we'll make sure your student visits the lost and found and gets reconnected with their lost items! 😄 Anything not claimed by this Friday (2/25) will be donated and find a new home.
Who’s up for a challenge?! Coach Harrison and Coach Watson have challenged their students to show up BIG for their American Heart Association - Kansas fundraiser and are up for a night (or two) on the roof! Let’s do this! 👏🏽

The Discovery staff team had a special surprise for the students this morning to kick off the last day of the semester! 💃 They’ve got some impressive moves, but a student tried to upstage them!
Well that was fun! Great job today, Discovery! 💙 Have a safe, fun weekend. #DiscoveryCostumeRun
