We are so excited to have the Mobi Mats here in Gold Beach at South Beach Park (94080 Shirley Lane). We wanted to share some information about them. The mats are a ADA-compliant rollout access mat designed to provide a stable surface for people with mobility challenges or wheelchair users. These particular ones do not float and do not go out to the ocean. They are a versatile solution to allow accessibility to our beautiful beaches. The mats will be out 24 hours a day until mid-September when our tides start getting higher. At that time we will roll them up and store them until late spring of 2025. We'd like to thank The Oregon Coast for the opportunity to get the Mobi-Mats and Trailkeepers of Oregon for installing them for us.

Fire Danger Level Increases To HIGH

Warm weather and wind in conjunction with the current heat wave across southern Oregon has prompted Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) to increase the fire danger level to “HIGH” (yellow) effective Saturday July 6, 2024 12:01am.
There is a Red Flag Warning as well as a Fire Weather Watch in place this afternoon (7/5/24) for eastern Coos County much of Douglas County.
CFPA is asking the public’s continued help with fire prevention this summer.
