Our Story
ADI Advantage
Experience
ADI has been helping farmers and improving their ground for nearly forty years. From humble beginnings in a Quonset Building in Cooperstown, Illinois in 1982, the owner began installing tile and doing conservation work. Realizing the positive results of his work, company owner Don Colclasure began focusing his attention on pattern tiling. That’s when things started to get exciting!
Narrow tile lateral spacings, shallow depths and High Capacity main tile lines became the company standard. That was in 1990! Fast forward to 2020
There are not many scenarios that we haven’t faced. From situations where depth is a luxury, to hills that require depths of 14’-16’ and require special pipe to handle the pressure, rocks the size of pickups, fields that virtually do not have outlet possibilities, and just about any other factor you can think of – we’ve seen it all. We know drainage and that’s all we do.
ADI does not do any other type of work. We do not farm, we do not build bridges, we don’t do house construction - we just install drainage. Several other companies do this type of work, but many times the drainage side is just a sideline to a farming operation or some other business. We have full-time, skilled workers that do nothing but install drainage. Most of our plow operators have installed a minimum of 10 million feet and that number is increasing about 5 million feet per year for each operator. Our customers have a right to expect professional, high-quality service and that is what we deliver.
Timeliness
We often hear of customers who have been waiting up to 3 years for somebody to get to their job/field. Our mission is always to get your job done when you want it done. With our unmatched combination of equipment and experience, we quickly and effectively get to and finish our customers’ job and have it ready to start producing at a higher rate immediately. We operate numerous crews throughout the Midwest and can handle jobs anywhere from 20 to 15,000 acres.
Equipment
The plows and trenchers we operate are custom-designed and built specifically for us. Our grading systems have been developed over several years and can outperform anything that can be purchased in the marketplace. These machines are branded for and by us and are not mass distributed. An ADI plow is larger and more versatile than any other brand on the market, with advanced grading systems that are unique to ADI.
ADI trenchers are designed specifically for dual wall applications. These machines have the ability to dig nearly 4’ wide and 8 1/2’ deep. Most of the pipe installed by these machines will vary from 12” to 30” pipe which we produce in 10’ lengths for ease of installation.
Pipe
ADI has manufactured its own pipe since 1995. We started producing our own in order to insure a constant supply of quality pipe without the fear of a manufacturing shortage. We pioneered manufacturing dual wall pipe in 10’ lengths for easier installation in the field. As is always the case with progressive innovations, other companies have followed suit, but ADI was the first to offer pipe in these shorter lengths.
We refuse to compromise quality in order to sell at the lowest price. Our customers expect pipe that will last for the long haul, and we deliver that quality.
No other drainage installation company in the United States makes their own pipe and we are very proud of this accomplishment
