Monsoon season in the American West. Had a call the other day from some gents that I had sold a route to. They were stuck in the mud SW of Denver at 8:30pm. If you are on an Adventure Touring bike the mud is UNRIDEABLE! Make sure you get an early start and if it rains, take the pragmatic route and stay on the hard top. It's not like the ride will be boring. Any road, other than I-70, is going to be a great ride. I take my front mudguard off so that it can keep the front wheel turning. If it gets really bad then stop and wait it out. Don't burn your clutch out. Ride smart, start early.

Top Of the World to you. Or is that Top of the World road? A spectacular way to get to the top of Grand Mesa, outside of Grand Junction, CO. There are several great ways to go back down on hard top. Dirt up, hard top down, perfect for Adv touring.

Enough AI images! Utah does not need your help to look amazing. I love beautiful pictures from photographers who understand the nuance and patience required to take a beautiful photo. Halloween and old graves. Civil Ware graves at the top of Ruby Canyon on the Pony Express Route. I did not know any Civil War fighting happened in Nevada. A BLM Pony Express historian told me about the site.

High Rock Desert Nevada. I want to go back and ride this again as I was not a very good rider back then. I'm on my first bike, a 2004 F650GS. I rode the Emigrants Trail and after a brutal day found a natural hot springs to soak in. Turns out northern Nevada is full of natural hot springs. Ran out of water and learned that without water you cannot eat. Take my word for it. Can't really recommend the hotels in Gerlach.
