POST-TELECONFERENCE UPDATE: ODFW and WDFW approved a Saturday, February 15, opener. They will review harvest stats next week to figure out if there's any more opportunity to be had.

Columbia River sturgeon managers will consider reopening The Dalles Pool for retention Saturday, February 15 and Thursday, February 20 during a teleconference later this morning.

There are 134 keepers left in the recreational guideline of 275 after the one day of fishing early last month.

"With this recommendation, the expected catch in The Dalles Pool through February 20 is projected to total 251 fish (91% of the guideline)," fact sheet out ahead of the meeting states.

No fish were harmed in today’s episode of “making memories”. BUT we had a heck of a time trying to get some keepers in an area that’s very difficult to find fish let alone get them to eat. we did find a few fish that wanted to play, but sadly they were just over the slot limit size😖 looking forward to our next episode of talking elk🤣 Brent Bennett, Luke Bennett

What a great way to start a new year. 🦖 We experienced a great day of catching yesterday. The boys put the Talon Rods to good use and went home with plenty of fish for future meals. With the season in the lower pools now closed I’ll be running combo trips by the bordman/mcnary dam area for keeper sturgeon/ walleye trips.

Another great day on the Columbia River catching some prehistoric dinosaurs. I had the pleasure of having Steve from Columbia Chrome Guide Service on the boat. He and I definitely got a work out💪🏼 we boated around 20 Dino’s, 3 doubles with a couple XL’s and 7 keeper sized fish. The fish are hungry!
