Sunday Funday in Everglades National Park. We are getting some fabulous photos during our Photography and Birding Safari. You will be with a Florida Master Naturalist and licensed Coast Guard Captain with many years of local experience and knowledge to draw upon. The use of a power boat typically provides the most flexibility for photographers. A flat-decked boat is your shooting platform and has room for one tripod and two guests (three guests if smaller framed). An electric trolling motor may be used to maneuver the boat into position for your shots and to silently approach the wildlife. Larger parties can be accommodated on our larger boats, however. Reservations are required.

A tour that memories are made of. Dolphins seen during our Dolphin and Birding Boat Tour. Our tours depart daily from Marco Island and Everglades City. What will you see during your tour? It is nature, and it is wild. Every trip is different. Some days, we are fortunate to see a lot of wildlife; some days less. That is up to Mother Nature. However, all our guides are experienced outdoorsmen and women, naturalists, and educators. We will have a handle on where the wildlife is on any given day, but we can view only what is there. Most days, you can see ospreys, various breeds of herons and egrets, pelicans, numerous species of shorebirds, and raccoons. Manatees are typically spotted from the boat on most every tour during the warmer months. However, our guests also commonly see dolphins, roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, various hawks, white pelicans, owls, sea turtles, kites, and black vultures. On some occasions, we have seen wild hogs, bobcats, white-tailed deer, and even black bears from our boats. We never know until we are there. Reservations are required. Book your unforgettable experience today!

Our Photography Boat Tour guests are set up and looking for the perfect photos. Photograph areas seldom reached by others. Most of the 1.5 million acres in the Everglades National Park are flooded and essentially out of reach for average photographers and birders. Not on this private Everglades boat tour experience. The whole area and your photography/birding opportunities change with the seasons; therefore, so do our tours. Sometimes we need to run deep into the Park's interior to reach a shoot location or species. Other times, the wildlife is close by. Every trip is different. Reservations are required.

Have you ever seen a manatee? Florida Manatee (Trichechus manatus latirostris) is one of the many species we see during our Boat Tours.
Appearance: Manatees are grey, aquatic mammals with pudgy, elongated bodies. They have a rounded nose, two front flippers, and a large, paddle-like tail.
Size: Adult manatees are around 9-10 feet in length. Females weigh an average of 1,000 lbs., while males average 750 lbs.
Lifespan: 60+ years
Habitat: Able to live in fresh, salt, or brackish water, manatees can be found in Florida’s springs, rivers, estuaries, and coastal areas. In the winter they concentrate in Florida’s warm waters.
Diet: Manatees are herbivores, consuming 10-15 percent of their body weight in seagrasses and other aquatic vegetation each day.
Reproduction: Manatees reach sexual maturity around 3-5 years of age in females and 5-7 years in males. The female is pregnant for 12-14 months before producing one calf that will stay with its mother for up to two years.
