We’ve just added this beautiful woodpecker carving to the Goshen Post Inn. It was hand carved by local folk artist Ronald Derrow. He sells his carvings from his shop, Shumake & Johnson Antiques, located in Mount Sidney, VA.

We believe that guests will have a truly fun and unique experience when staying at the Goshen Post Inn. Click the Airbnb link in our profile to book your stay or contact us directly at [email protected] or by DM, if you would like to receive further information.

We were recently sent this fabulous picture of the historic Goshen Post Office taken several decades ago by Goshen resident Wyatt Canady. Thankfully, the front of the post office has not been modified, for the most part, from the way it looked in the photo. It’s great to see that the various owners of the building have tried to maintain the historic and architectural integrity of this old rural post office. We will try our best to continue to be good stewards of the building under our watch, to preserve its quiet beauty for future generations. Does anyone remember when the post office officially closed?

Here’s another sneak peek into the Great Room at Goshen Post Inn. The Great Room measures approximately 23’x40’, including the open concept kitchen. We’ve added quite a few pieces to the inn that we have collected over the years. Here, you can see a couple of the more whimsical pieces that we have added, including a custom crafted side table, oversized coffee table and some of the art. Also, the 50” TV is hidden inside of a wall mounted cabinet. You can click the Airbnb link in our profile to schedule your stay.

We have now listed the Goshen Post Inn on Airbnb. We have opened up the initial slots and will be adding more as time moves on. We are still working on the final upgrades and detailing the inn, more pictures will be added as projects are completed. One of our largest upgrades has been to add fully zoned heating and air conditioning to the building. We hope this will allow for greater guest comfort. We look to reopening the Airbnb and hosting all of our future guests!

Last weekend, we visited the Lavender Fields at Tantivy Farm. The mountain views were beautiful, and the Lavender Honeycomb ice cream was divine, to say the least. The shop had a diverse assortment of lavender based art, soaps, syrups, treats and treasures to take home or give as gifts to friends and family. It’s approximately a twenty-minute drive from the Goshen Post Inn. We will definitely visit again soon!

A sneak peek at the vintage wrought iron queen size bed, new rug, one of the lamps and some of the additional bedroom decor that we have added to the Goshen Post Inn the past couple of weeks. We absolutely love sleeping in the cozy bedroom surrounded by the old salmon colored historic brick walls. Does anyone have an opinion on having a TV in the bedroom?

We are adding quite a few things to the Goshen Post Inn that have personal meaning to us and/or we have collected through the years. Pictured are a couple of set signs that were used in the filming of `TURN: Washington's Spies', a Revolutionary War-era drama series that aired from 2014-2017. These are being displayed in the inns great room on the back wall. We hope all our future guests enjoy seeing them as much as we do. If you continue to scroll through the pictures, you will see them being used on the `Turn` original set.

Thanks to Nikki & Will for “handing over the reins” to us for the Goshen Post Inn. After reading the reviews and going over the comments that have been left by hundreds of guests, they have created a high standard to live up to. For the most part, we are leaving the beautiful inn they created intact, while adding a few upgrades. We look forward to and anticipate re-opening the Goshen Post Inn at the beginning of October 2023, just in time to watch the 611 steam locomotive roll in and out of town for fall foliage excursions. Make sure to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates! Our new Instagram page is GoshenPostInnVA

Planning a trip to Goshen Post Inn? Check out America's oldest spa, the Warm Springs Pools, during your stay. Spa booking info: https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/homestead-virginia/wellness/hot-springs/warm-springs-pools

These hot springs are not only a natural wonder, but also a historical treasure. The original octagonal stone basin that held the water for bathing was built in 1761, establishing it as the first spa structure in America. The bathhouses reopened after a $4 million rehabilitation. The goal was to sav...

The Warm Springs Pools are open! The bathhouses are located just 20 miles from Goshen Post Inn and are now taking reservations.

The site, which was first established as a soaking area in 1761, recently went through a major historic renovation. These hot springs are naturally fed by a mineral spring and remain a constant 98 degrees.

The pools are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It costs $25 for a 50-minute soak, and reservations can be made by calling (540) 839-3860.
