Maintenance goes a long way!
Our horses got worked over with some chiropractic work the other day. Doing this keeps them happy and healthy and working pain free!
Now if only we would treat ourselves like that as well! 😉

Our 30A and 50A electrical hookups along with our horse hotel make an ideal stop for horse travelers along I-80.
Do you know what the best part is??? We have no BACKTRACKING from the ranch. Just continue on the direction you’re heading when you depart! 15 minutes from either direction and you are back on the interstate covering ground again.

We took a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota with our horses! Every ride we went on was good for our souls on this much needed vacation! We loved every second of it!

We had a blast with this group from Kearney yesterday with a milking tour! We included hand milking a cow, making ice cream and shaking butter! We even got some milk taste testing in! They beat the heat and were excited to be here for a family tour!

Rosie, our milking goat, the moment she realizes she went through the wrong gate and may be stuck in there for life (in her mind). Hearing a few “Ma-a-a Ma-a” from across the yard alerted me to her unknown distress! A quick slide of the gate latch and she was free to roam again without a care in the world.

We preg-checked mares yesterday! 3 of the 4 are bred! We are excited to see these babies hit the ground next year!

Fair life is over and it’s back to reality. This morning we rounded up a pasture and mass treated for a pinkeye breakout we had going on. Glad to have that task done!

We had a local assisted living group out yesterday for National Cow Appreciation Day! We loved sharing our time with them and answering their questions!

We helped clear the arena of cattle at our local 4th of July rodeo! On the 3rd the weather cut loose and down poured! This was just before the rain hit! After a slight delay we worked the rodeo in the pouring rain and it all turned out ok! We were just a little cold and wet by the end, nothing that wouldn’t make for a fun memory!

It’s the time of year when we start seeing a little pinkeye here and there. You can’t see the dart gun in the picture, but Ty is aiming right for a calf to give it a good dose of antibiotics to help fight the infection.

Our last day of advanced horse camp last week was one for the books!
An organized trail ride that led us down the county roads to the river where we worked on some water crossing! Then we ended it with some good food and a birthday party for one of our campers!
