I love photographing eagles. It is one of the many reasons I am drawn to Alaska. I love this beach it is just loaded with Eagles. On this particular day my group spent the morning photographing them hanging around the tide pools. We got reflections, flight shots, portraits etc. It was fun.

Thanks for visiting. I will be adding more photos every week. Please follow us and or comment to see more pictures. Have a great day.
Thanks
John Slonina.

Great Horned Owl Chick. With its long, earlike tufts, intimidating yellow-eyed stare, and deep hooting voice, the Great Horned Owl is the quintessential owl of storybooks. This powerful predator can take down birds and mammals even larger than itself, but it also dines on daintier fare such as tiny scorpions, mice, and frogs. It’s one of the most common owls in North America, equally at home in deserts, wetlands, forests, grasslands, backyards, cities, and almost any other semi-open habitat between the Arctic and the tropics.

The September 2015 Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park photo tour is over. It was a blast. We have a pack of wolves chasing a bison heard, 8 Grizzly bears, several Black Bears, Pronghorns, Bison, Elk, Coyotes, Foxes, and a Bald Eagle.

We also did a lot of landscape photography. We were lucky, snow at the higher elevations gave us snow capped mountains and opened up several opportunities. Fall color was great in the North Side of Grand Tetons and the Wind River Range.

I also would like to say thanks to my group. We traveled all over the place and had a lot of great surprises. Thanks again

The Atlantic puffin is a species of seabird in the auk family. Nesting around the edges of the North Atlantic, this puffin is sought after by birdwatchers who visit Maine or eastern Canada in summer. Forages while swimming underwater. Does most foraging within 50' of surface, but can dive to about 200'.
During my Acadia Tour we travel by boat and land (weather permitting) on an island that has hundreds of puffins and razorbills just a few feet in front of us. It is an incredible experience. On the way back we photograph seals. Lighthouses, and coastal harbors.
