In Granby, everything’s a little more independent.

Here, our small business owners go the extra mile for our community, like Ashley, the owner of Newbees Kids Co. She believes all families should have access to affordable, high-quality children's clothing and gear. She’s making sure our mountain kids have everything they need, from snow boots to swimming suits. But that’s only half the story – Newbees also hosts children’s events, partners with the schools, and is a welcoming space for families to connect.

It’s not what you’ll find everywhere, but that’s kind of the point. Granby, a little more independent.

***TRAVEL ALERT: JULY 29 to AUGUST 1***

On Monday, July 29, crews will perform week-long paving operations at two bridge locations near the Town of Granby. Work will take place on the Granby Bridge, over the Fraser River (Mile Points 212 to 213) and at the bridge structure located west of town, over the Colorado River (Mile Point 210). Motorists will encounter up to 15 minute delays, full stops and one-lane alternating traffic between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Crews will also complete work to patch potholes approximately 6 miles east, near Red Dirt. Motorists can expect minimal impacts to travel at this third work zone.

CDOT crews will work as swiftly as possible to complete the surface treatment; however resurfacing operations are weather dependent.

Traffic Impacts
Operations will take place July 29 to August 1. Daytime work hours will range from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Motorists should plan for up to 15 minute delays and should allow for extra travel time
• Vehicles will be guided by flagging personnel and signs
• Access in and out of intersections may be restricted at times
• A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zones

A magical moment in nature's gallery.

The Arapaho National Recreation Area (ANRA), hosts more than 50 breeding osprey pairs. This is the largest population in the region, crucial for species recovery. Ospreys nearly vanished from Colorado in the 1960s due to pesticide contamination, but ANRA’s nest platforms now support their comeback.

Enjoy watching these amazing birds around the Lake Granby area, but please respect their habitat. Maintain distance from nests, stay on trails, and minimize noise.

Ranching and Rodeo are in our roots and still an important part of who we are today. It's a celebration of our Western heritage and seeing the next generation carry on the legacy.

There's only two rodeos left this summer (July 20 & 27), so if you haven't yet, come on down, get a little dust on your boots and be a part of our Granby Flying Heels Rodeo family!

In Granby, everything’s a little more independent. Here, folks chase their dreams head-on, like Dave, our local train aficionado and founder of the Moffat Road Railroad Museum.

He's a walking encyclopedia of Colorado's rail history with a can-do attitude and a vision to create a one-of-a-kind train museum right here in Granby.

Easy? Not a chance. Hauling a century-old train depot through the mountains? All part of the plan. Shutting down I-70 to move a massive steam locomotive? Just another day in the life of this legend.

You won't find a museum (or a man) quite like this anywhere else. Granby. A little more independent.
