Care Flight Transports First Patients

The first week of October proved to be an exciting week at Sidney Health Center as our new air ambulance service took to the skies. Care Flight answered the call with four flights in the first seven days of operation, transporting patients to the next level of care in Billings.

The Care Flight team is comprised of a paramedic, critical care nurse and pilot who are on-call 24/7 offering high quality, affordable, air transportation for patients requiring emergent or urgent medical care that is not provided locally.

This new service line is a great addition to the Sidney community and surrounding area. The plane was funded by the Foundation for Community Care and Richland County. Approximately 24 patients are flown out each month for critical medical conditions including heart, stroke, trauma, pediatric needs and more recently COVID patients requiring a higher-level of care.
