Looking at the stars through an astronomy grade white phosphor device for the first time ๐ ๐คฏ
Being able to give people these memories/experiences is by far one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. Hearing people gasp as they struggle to take in the entirety of the night sky never gets old ๐
Had a great time meeting @murphy__photography (instagram) and getting to show them what all the hype is about!

The other night I stayed up until about 4am for the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, and boy did it turn out good! I started off at the end of the Gunflint Trail in a Bortle 1 area. I worried that the clouds would never clear up but they did! Watching those first stars cross the horizon was quite exciting!
I eventually decided I had to head home, but I stopped at Pincushion first. There I ran into an older man and his wife who were out watching the stars. We sat and watched together, having some really great conversation. Then I drove halfway home, pulled over and sat on the shore for a few more hours, getting some fantastic videos over Lake Superior facing Grand Marais.
It was one of the most spectacular shows I've ever seen and I'm so thankful I stayed up to witness it. I only got a small portion of what I saw on video, but I like to think this is a good, short summary. Lying on the shore, watching the performance, and thinking about how much love I have for our solar system, was overwhelming in all the right ways
