Eagle Nest Lodge is a great place to to experience Minnesota’s northwoods all year long. Their extraordinary view is a healthy stress reliever spring, summer, fall and winter. Whether you are after the spring walleye migration, the summer sun and fun, the fabulous fall fishing or a bit of cross-country skiing or ice fishing, the friendly staff at Eagle Nest Lodge will take care of you.

Royal Guide Service is a great fishing service to check out! Hiring a local, knowledgeable fishing guide will almost always catch you more fish. Guides fish their home waters constantly, and in doing so learn where the fish are and why they are there. But when you fish with a professional guide, often the biggest benefit is not just in the number of fish you catch, but in what you learn. Grand Rapids, MN Fishing Guide Roy Girtz loves talking with people, teaching them new things and helping them not only catch fish, but also understand why they catch more fish. He’ll help you learn new techniques and sharpen your fishing skills and that’s going to help you catch more fish even after your trip ends.

The new fishing report is in!

With an additional 12 to 14 inches of snow hitting the area last weekend, snowmobiles are now the only travel option and there is some slush to deal with. Perch reports have been best in 12 to 14 feet, and walleyes are being caught on the main-lake structure in less than 14 feet as well.

The new fishing report is in!

Ice conditions continue to improve with more than 10 inches reported throughout most of the lake. Angling and spearing for northern pike continues to be decent on the shoreline breaks, shallow weeds, and Third River area in less than 10 feet. These areas also are holding perch, but you will have to sort through some small fish. Walleyes and a few bigger perch are being found on the main lake bars and humps in 18 to 22 feet.
