👉 Facials are essential in figuring out the right way to treat your skin. Seeking advice from a licensed skin care professional is crucial in treating skin concerns and formulating a plan for long lasting skin health.

👉 Facial treatments are also a great opportunity to learn more about what your skin needs, what regimen to follow, and why each product and ingredient is necessary for your skin.

👉 Self-education and research can help, yes. But as an Esthetician, I can provide a hands-on, accurate skin assessment and plan for your skin. Google CANNOT do that.

👉 The skin takes about 3-4 weeks to complete a full "life-cycle" of shedding and regenerating skin cells. I recommend a facial treatment every 4 weeks for maximum benefits and results. However, I know monthly treatments can be costly for some, so the minimum would be every quarter as the seasons change, and maintain a very STRONG at home routine.

📢 Your butt goes through a lot year-round, even if your skin isn’t prone to breakouts, breakouts on your rear end can happen. Just because you can more easily hide it, doesn’t make butt-ne any less frustrating or embarrassing.

🧚‍♀️ The pimples on your b***y develop because of folliculitis, which typically results from irritation or blockage of hair follicles, staph bacteria, fungus, or yeast infecting your hair follicles.

🧚 If left untreated, an infected hair follicle can swell to a large, painful, puss-filled carbuncle (boil) — and since that boil’s on your behind, it can be a literal pain in the you-know-what. 😞

📢📢📢📢📢 Skin Tip Thursday: Back Acne or Bacne

‼️ Back acne is the second-most common place on the body to develop acne, coming in just after acne on the face. The pores on the back are easy to clog because they are larger than in other places. Because these pores are larger, the lesions that appear on the back are typically bigger, more painful, and more widespread than those that develop on the face.

‼️ Keratosis Pilaris: While not itself acne, keratosis pilaris can sometimes look like pimples. These bumps appear in patches across the shoulders, back, and upper arms. They are a result of keratin overproduction. The condition is not painful, but it can be unsightly when it appears in large swathes across the body.

The best way to prevent back acne from developing is to adjust your body skin care routine. This could mean anything from showering directly after a workout and using a full-body cleaner to exfoliating with a salicylic acid treatment. Wearing loose-fitting clothing can also reduce the risk of developing back acne.

Back Facial treatments are a specialty of mine. I also do chemical peels on the back area for optimal results. Remember peels are best done in series of 3.

A common question anyone who does dermaplaning gets asked, "Will it make my hair grow back thicker or darker?"

The Answer:
✔️ NO. The soft, fine vellus hairs will grow back slowly, averages about 4 weeks.

2 types of hair on our bodies:

1. Vellus: thin, fine, soft hair that covers the entire body, (making us mammal like)
2. Terminal: course hair that grows on the head, face, underarms, legs, and p***c areas.

Dermplaning, waxing, tweezing, sugaring, threading or any other depilatory form of hair removal cannot alter the type of hair grown in any given area.

Dermaplaning is included with every treatment.

📣📣 Skin Talk: What's the Difference??

♠ Using products that contain Salicylic Acid helps to strengthen the epidermal structure to improve the skin's texture and complexion. Salicylic Acid is in the BHA family. It is well known for keeping pores clean and clear and works best for mild acne.

Please keep in mind it can take several weeks of use before you begin to see the full affects of using Salicylic Acid, but the wait is well worth it.

♦ On the flip side, Benzoyl Peroxide penetrates into the pores and kills the acne-causing bacteria with oxygen. It is antimicrobial, and works best for inflammatory acne like pustules, papules, cysts and nodules.

I prefer to use Benzoyl Peroxide as a spot treatment, and Salicylic Acid as a serum or toner.

If you are having consistent breakouts, its best to know which ingredient and actives to use in your skincare.

💥The best advice I can give if you are needing help getting your skin back to its best healthiest state, see an aesthetician you trust and that is knowledgeable in skin.
