ACTION WINS 2023 SUPERYACHT CHALLENGE ANTIGUA | The overall winner of the 12th edition of the Superyacht Challenge Antigua is Doyle-powered, 37m sloop ACTION. In the final race, the 148ft Dyole-powered GITANA aced the start, less than one boat length from the line when the starting gun sounded and went on to take line honours, as she had done for every race of the regatta.
Doyle Sails superyacht expert Chris Sherlock sailed with the team onboard Gitana this week "It was the first time Gitana has raced in six or seven years and is now under a new owner, the Antigua superyacht challenge was used by our team as a training event for more regattas in the future. The owner loved racing his yacht and I am sure we will see him on the superyacht circuit in the future. The organisers did very well in demanding conditions to stage a great regatta."

ROLEX SYDNEY HOBART 2022 | At 0055hrs AEDT, 27 December 2022, Rolex Sydney Hobart race leader and line honours favourite Andoo Comanche were first to reach the Bass Strait as she made her way passed Green Cape to Tasmania. Six miles astern, it was only a few minutes later that Doyle-powered LawConnect did the same.

At 0655hrs AEDT, the leaders are nearly halfway across the Bass Strait, averaging boat speeds of mid-twenties all night. Andoo Comanche still leads LawConnect by 11nm with Black Jack and Hamilton Island Wild Oats, 5nm behind. Doyle-powered Andoo Comanche sits 48nm behind the 2017 LDV Comanche Race Record.

Behind the leading pack of 100-footers is Willow, Stefan Racing and Alive, separated by only three nautical miles, with the fleet of 52s hot on their heels. Caro and Warrior Won match boat speeds and sit only 20 miles behind the bigger yachts.

NYUMBA | The fourth unit of the thriving Southern Wind SW96 project has been christened in Cape Town: welcome SW96 #04 Nyumbaᴳᵀ.

Doyle Sails Italy have worked closely throughout the design and build process with Southern Wind, strengthening this partnership between the shipyard and the sailmaker. Nyumba will carry a Doyle Sails Stratis wardrobe, including a square top mainsail and three sails featuring the revolutionary Structured Luff technology, a Blade, a Staysail and a J4, along with a Storm trysail and storm jib.

Mario Giattino from Doyle Sails Italy will join the yacht for sea trials in Cape Town later this month, ahead of her maiden journey with her new owners.

RANGER | The 2022 season has seen the J Class gather considerable momentum. After five years of limited and sporadic racing at mixed fleet regattas, this season followed a consolidated, popular class racing programme at three significant events in the Caribbean and Europe. In many senses, this season has been the perfect first step to 2024 when a powerful fleet of J Class yachts look set to muster in Barcelona to take centre stage at J Class World Championship during the 37th America's Cup period.

New owners breathed new life into two J Class campaigns, and for the new, younger generation owner of Ranger, for whom their first-ever racing sailboat is 2003 built J Class, a debut win might have been unexpected. It was, however, a well-earned result for a team full of talent, with offshore and ocean racing experience fired by great enthusiasm.
