It’s a Winter Wonderland right now in Grants Pass. We have a bit of snow down on the valley floor. It’s pretty unusual to have our forecast include snow for a few days! Fortunately it really is only sticking to the houses and grassy areas. Still, it was such a lovely wish come true to have a White Christmas this year.

I’m pretty sure this is genius marketing ploy from Traeger. I recently upgraded the BBQ options here at DunMovin. Not only do we have a sweet Weber propane model (for those of us with emerging BBQ talents), but we also now sport a cute Traeger BBQ/Smoker that runs on wood pellets, that it somehow knows exactly how many wood pellets to dispense to keep the fire going at the right temp, but that we can also control from our smartphones (WIFIRE).

So anyway, my point and I have one, is that the Traeger box is just the right size for a kid playhouse/fort. I pulled the top piece off, planning on setting it aside for some special kid to work over, and immediately noticed that some genius has printed the inside of the box with a scene and sides for a play fort. Genius Traeger… I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that has written about this amazing find.

Summer came early this year! Or maybe I should say, “Springtime is outstanding this year!” The pool is open, flowers are blooming, and the weather is about as perfect as you could ask for.

Today we brought out the new and improved ‘Inflata-Bull’. There were some successful riders and a couple of notable unexpected dismounts. The kids have managed to nearly empty the pool toy shed of any possible thing to utilize in the pool, and have them displayed in a random order all over the pool deck. We even have a Lego station, oddly under the slide. All in all, it’s been a lovely few days with good friends and my sweet family.

This location was perfect for this small intimate wedding. Thank you DunMovin'Oregon for this beautiful spot. It was a dream to photograph!

True story, I’ve done this, likely right about there. :)

I have to share this funny. (Dont worry bride is alive and well lol).
The bride and bridesmaids were trying to do a little fun photo looking like the wind/rain was pulling them away but in the process they lost balance and the bride went down and then rolled down hill backward. I was snapping away.. couldn't help myself lol. But look she is ok! lol

Way out here in the wilds (heh) of Southern Oregon we have heard a ton about the Coronavirus, in fact our local Costco has been sold out of TP shortly after opening every day they have had a shipment. I was able to score some extra Lysol wipes to have available for my guests to give things an extra swipe, just so they feel a bit more confidence in their surroundings while staying here. So far, our county has had no reported cases of this virus. There are a few cases in Oregon so far, but so far they are mainly in the northern part of the state. Here at DunMovin’ we have escalated our usual high standard of cleanliness and added additional measures, including additional wipe downs of all hard surfaces with Lysol products. Shortly before guests arrive, I go out and give an extra wipe down of all light switches, remote controls, keys and gate fobs, door handles, and any commonly touched items.

I’m glad that most of our guests travel here for to see family or to enjoy the natural beauty of the region, and not to take part of large concerts or similar. I hope that all of you are able to find some sanity with all the worry over this crisis. If you need a break from it all, you know where I am. DunMovin’ is a great place to get away from ‘everything’.

Be well friends.

xoxo

And, here we have Maddie showing her bravery on the water slide, into the deep end as well.

Here comes the sun! The days are mostly warm now, with an occasional warmish rainstorm, fatty raindrops included. Everything is blooming and it’s my all time favorite time of the year, especially in Southern Oregon.

Best part, for DunMovin’, the pool is open. The other best part for DunMovin’ guests, it’s not summer rates yet. 🤩

Enjoy a quick getaway if you can find an open date on my calendar, there are still a few open days. Summer is also filling up a little faster than expected.

If you are reading this, are one of DunMovin’s friends, know you can book directly by contacting me. Save yourself some booking fees, and know that the rate I publish is the rate you will pay. No hidden fees when you book direct.

Have a lovely spring, summer and beyond.

Today I heard one of the first Pacific Tree Frogs that will congregate near my little pond. He was singing in the daytime, calling to the ladies. Spring is on the way :)

The Motto for Grants Pass is “It’s The Climate”.

It surely is one of the main reasons I chose to move here in 2014. There are four distinct seasons and the really awesome ones are longer than the not so awesome ones.

Today we woke up to mild weather, a bit cold -around 46. Around 1:00 I noticed a tiny little wet snow flurry, so I grabbed my iPad and took a video quick to share. At 4:00, we’ve got about 6” of snow (didn’t think it would stick to be honest). Also our local weather forecast is for snow off and on this week. After that no doubt we will get spring (I’m hopeful).

Enjoy my Valhalla.

After much procrastination, DunMovin' Oregon is finally visible on Facebook. I hope that guests will share their photos and memories of their stay. At some point in the future I hope to have some kind of calendar that folks can look for openings on planned visits. For right now though, we can do things the low tech way: Just ask if your dates are open. I'm so excited about the changes here and will be sharing progress reports as I make progress.

Thanks for a 'Like' a 'Share' or whatever it's called nowadays.
