It’s been a busy spring!

* Two new mattresses - King in master and Queen in the bikini bedroom
* New housekeeper training (Paula’s awesome!)
* New Wetsteps on the boat dock
* New coat of paint on Escape2 (beautiful spring weather for painting!)
* New light above the fish cleaning station
* New table and chairs
* New rocking lawn chairs by the fire pit.

To the people who launched a Formula 310 that cost $300k, and is more than I can afford, wow what an awesome ride. That is my dream boat.

To the group in the wakeboat plowing that water, listening to music, thrashing, and slashing. You look like you are having a great time with friends.

To the family in the 1979 Glastron with faded seats and rough gel coat. I can only imagine the memories you’ve made in that thing.

To the folks in the pontoon who are laughing, tubing, eating, and drinking. Live it up, Monday will come way too soon and kids grow up too fast.

To the crew launching 4 waverunners from that big ole quad trailer, ready to zip around all day. Hang on and have a blast.

To those in the bass boat hanging on as others rock the boat but you gotta get in just a few more casts. I hope you catch a big one!!

To that cruiser anchored in the secluded cove with sun kissed bodies on the bow deck. Enjoy the day on your own “island” for the day.

We all enjoy the water differently, and we may not agree on it all, but we have to remember the only thing that matters is memories are being made, and you’re getting 120% out of your time with your loved ones. You have to forget HOW you go boating, and remember WHY you go boating. THAT is boating!! Spread the love on the water and enjoy!

The lake is beautiful in the snow…but summer’s on it’s way. The summer months are filling up, book now if you’re wanting to enjoy Escape 2 The Lake this summer. Also, think about booking for September, it’s quiet and lovely at the lake then.

Ameren drops the lake about six feet in the winter. It won’t start coming back up till April & May. You probably need 4-wheel drive for the ramp currently. Silver Sands has a concrete ramp if you’re uncomfortable with the Gravel.

Tonight’s adult beverage is a Smoretini! Delicious marshmallow chocolate goodness in a glass! Made a quick trip to the lake this weekend to enjoy some of this beautiful weather ahead of the snow forecast later this week. Weather is still chilly so a play on s’mores sounded great! First dip the rim of your glass in chocolate syrup and then in graham cracker crumbs and set aside. In a shaker with ice add 3 ozs half & half, 2 ozs chocolate liqueur and 2 ozs vanilla vodka. Shake until chilled and strain into your rimmed glass. To make the marshmallow garnish I put two on a skewer and used a kitchen torch to toast. Enjoy!

The cabinet on the deck of the Vrbo was not shedding water properly and was rotting from the inside. This year the top collapsed.

So yesterday I demolished the rest of it and built something that hopefully will not collect water and rot. It’s not fancy, but functional. It supports the privacy fence and gives you a place to sit your beer while you grill. 😀

Lake of the Ozarks has consistently tested as one of the cleanest lakes in Missouri.
Health Magazine recently proclaimed Lake of the Ozarks as one of the healthiest lakes in the country.
Only one of the hundreds of strains of E. coli causes serious illness. The primary risk of contracting one of those strains is through undercooked meat and raw vegetables.
Heavy rainfall in all bodies of water will temporarily influence water quality.
In the past three years, there have been no confirmed cases of sickness from the E coli bacteria due to swimming in the Lake of the Ozarks.
The natural flow of water at the Lake has a cleansing effect. Enough water flows into the Lake of the Ozarks each year to fill the Lake three times over.
Testing at Lake of the Ozarks is proactive and designed to help us gain an overall picture of the Lake’s water quality.
