Always something Uncommon at the ranch. We woke to hoar frost yesterday. How does this happen? “Hoar frost forms when the water vapour in the air comes into contact with solid surfaces that are already below freezing point. Ice crystals form immediately, and the ice continues to grow as more water vapour is frozen.” Nature is amazing!

Our prayers were answered. Winter was kind. We did the big reveal this weekend and uncovered the lavender fields. #1 field looks really good/ the Hidcote, Munstead, Big Time Blue, Sensational and Phenomenal cultivars all made it through. #2 field is a little wind burned but gets good sun so may perk back up in the next month. If you are staying in our vacation homes you can now walk to the lavender fields. Otherwise open to the public by appointment.
