Edited to update:

After being on the phone with Square for almost an hour and half) the agent instructed me to use my desktop or laptop (which I had done before) but it still shows it has already been refunded, therefore the CSA couldn’t figure out what to do so he told me to refund everyone with a bank check.

I have included pictures of the conference call that took place this morning as well as what I got when I tried my desktop computer. (Cameron is the Former owner and Square’s number is 855-700-6000.)

I am on my way to the bank where the business account is to have them print checks so that I can refund everyone that way.

I will be sending all mail certified. So if you have moved or used something other than your mailing address when you originally purchased your seat, please message me directly with that information.

I’m taking tomorrow morning off from work to go to the bank to see what my options are since Square still hasn’t processed any of the refunds and won’t let me cancel the refunds so I can refund them again!

If all else fails, I will get checks from the bank and refund everyone that way. I will update everyone as soon as I can in the morning.

Update:

On Saturday, 1/13, I went to the bank. I learned that my account is still good but that since Square is the payment processor for the business. (When someone makes a purchase square processes the payment and tells it where to go.)

Since Square is the payment processor, it looked at my account and determined that x amount of dollars has to be there BEFORE they will begin refunding anyone.

While I have enough money to cover, I am still short! The banks (my personal bank and the business account bank) will not give me a loan since it requires a company to be in Business for at least 3 years. (Sublime was started in 2021 off of FunTimes, 2018) but I took over in May/June 2023.

I am in the process of taking out a loan to ensure eveyone’s money is returned. Trust me- no one wants to have all of this resolved more than me.

First and foremost I am doing my best to get all refunds to you.

I called my bank again today to make sure my account was good! It is.

After work (5 pm) I checked my personal email account. I had an email from Square informing me that there had been a disconnect between them and my bank.

I tried to work through the process that Square suggested (payment of all the money) and my card has a set limit so the large amount will not go through without me calling my bank and letting them know to whom and what amount I need the limit set to. I will do that first thing tomorrow (Thursday).

I do work a full time job, have bills of my own and absolutely understand the frustration.

I have only responded to direct messages and will continue to do so.

Also be aware- if you chose to dispute to Square, which you have the opportunity to do, the wait may be even longer. This screenshot is information I received after responding (to send money to the customer) from a dispute. I was not aware that it would draw the process out even more.

The issue involving Square has been resolved. Their statement was that it is now between the financial institutions. (We are not the only ones having this issue)

I realize that this may seem suspicious however I have refunded everyone and am now just waiting with you.

Since the charter bus company has refused to refund any money, I have had to secure my own personal money to make sure you are paid! Trust me I have bills to pay as well but am doing everything possible to get it back to you asap. This is not to garner sympathy only to let you know that everyone has been refunded and will receive their seat ticket money.

The unforeseen Technical issue has been resolved. Refunds already sent can not be stopped.
According to the company Square…It MAY take a few more days to process back to your account.

We are currently working to resolve the issue with the refunds. Our bank was contacted and noted the problem is with Square. We are now working with them to ensure that refunds are processed as soon as possible.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance all the while working full time to support your own small business

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

NYC Dec. 1st-3rd IMPORTANT INFOMATION

Just as a reminder: We are DEPARTING Flying J’s (15236 KY-180, Cattlesburg, KY 41129) at 7:00 P.M. This being said, please arrive no later than 6:30 so we can check you in! We will be there around 6!

If you are wanting to be picked up in TEAYS VALLEY, please let us know so we can make sure we do not leave you. We are planning to be there around 7:45 p.m. so please be there no later than 7:30. We want to depart around 8:00 p.m. so please be aware of the time frames! We will be picking up at TA Travel Center (4195 WV-34, Hurricane, WV 25526)

A few friendly reminders about what to bring and common courtesy for the bus ride:

You are not the only person on the bus, so please be mindful of audio devices and bring listening devices!
You are free to leave anything on the bus you would like. Once the drivers drop us off in NYC, they will be going to a hotel and locking the buses so nothing should be bothered!
We recommend packing about a suitcase and carry-on just to allow for plenty of space to be left for shopping!
Each pair of seats has 2 regular plug-ins and 2 USB plugs.
While we will offer snacks and water and will stop often, I encourage you to bring snacks you love!
A neck pillow is great, and a blanket is something I consider to be a necessity.
Dress comfortably for the bus, I promise no one will judge…
The temperature on the bus will probably be cool because when it gets hot, it stays hot. This being said I would dress in layers or bring layers to change into.
Don’t forget to bring phone chargers, medicine, and anything else that you need for the weekend! I recommend bringing a portable charger.
I usually tell people to limit themselves to a suitcase and a carry-on. Treat it like a flight, one will go under the bus in storage and one can go with you and stay overhead. The more bags you bring, the more cramped you are!
The storage will be opened when we stop to eat, and freshen up before arriving in NYC. If you need anything during any other stops, we can open it!
During our "Freshen Up" stop, you will have the chance to shower, however, we cannot promise there will be showers available. They are at an additional charge according to the truck stop! Please keep this in mind.
Remember it is going to be COLD, so please dress warm for Saturday.
Bring yourself! The most important thing to bring. We cannot wait to see you Friday and hope that you are just as excited as we are.
