We're going back to Croatia on a small ship cruise in September 2025. We charter a deluxe ship for our group and our group only. It's smooth sailing up and down the Adriatic Coast hopping from island to island. We visit Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Korcula and other hidden treasures. It's a lot of fun with a great group of travelers, as usual. Join us!

This photo was taken by our guide, Stefan, two nights ago in Iceland. Beautiful northern lights. If you look on the left side of the photo at the horizon, you can also see the volcanic eruption currently going on. This is a spectacular time to go to Iceland. In the last few years it seems as if there has been more Northern Lights activity than usual, the weather has been relatively mild, and the volcanic eruptions have been magnificent. We have been traveling to Iceland for 15 years and the last two years have been the best in terms of seeing Mother Nature in action. There has never been a better opportunity to visit Iceland than there is now. We have ONE place left on our March 2025 tour. Wouldn't you want to experience all of this?

On our small group tours to Machu Picchu, of course we visit Machu Picchu and that folks, is one memorable experience. But we also go to the Amazon jungle. Some people think, OK, as long as I am going to Machu Picchu, I might as well go to the jungle. Well after the trip, most people say "That trip to the Amazon was great, and oh, we liked Machu Picchu too."

In this video, we are in the jungle. Sometimes we see howler monkeys and they are very entertaining. They are big "show-offs". Here is a family entertaining us at 75 feet above the ground. The momma monkey is so proud. She has a little baby that is learning to climb and swing in the trees and she wants to show us that.

It is amazing experiences like this that make travel all worthwhile.

Here is a bucket list trip if there ever was one: Machu Picchu. And we do it the right way. We stay in top hotels. In fact, in Cusco we stay at a hotel with a "smart oxygen system" that pumps oxygen into your room to mitigate the effects of altitude. We just announced a new tour and we are more than surprised at the positive reaction to it. The tour is "Québec City: Autumn in the Heart of French Canada". We stay at the fabulous Chateau Frontenac for 4 nights in October 2025. The hotel is the most-photographed and most famous hotels in the world. It overlooks the majestic St. Lawrence River in all of it's fall glory. Many people like Celine Dion, FDR, Winston Churchill, Princess Grace Kelly, and Queen Elizabeth have stayed there. You can stay there too! We will treat you to a behind the scenes tour of the hotel and include a dinner at the hotel restaurant overlooking the river. We do an excursion outside the city into the countryside to visit Montmorency Falls, the shrine at Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, a visit to Cidrerie Verger Bilodeau and then a wonderful lunch, again on the river overlooking the city. In our program is a walking tour of the city and special access to the Parliament building with lunch. And on top of it all, there is plenty of free time in Quebec City on your own.

Well, they had a wonderful trip to Ireland. About a year ago, a family of 12 asked The Professor to put a trip to Ireland together for them. After much planning, we started the trip on July 31 and finished it up yesterday. My guide, the fantastic Mark Doherty was the perfect person to lead them through Ireland, from north to south and east to west. We are so happy to help make the memories for them that will not soon be forgotten.

They also found out we are going back to Peru, Machu Picchu and the Amazon next June. Lots of our 2025 tours are sold out but we do have availability on "Dublin and the Gems of Ireland", "Portugal with Lisbon and the Douro Valley" tour, "Croatia Small Ship Cruise" (although that one is going fast), and "Christmas Markets of Montréal and Québec City" tour.

It's going, going, almost gone! That's our small ship luxury cruise in September 2025, that is.

Island Hop Along the Dalmatian Coast: Start off in Split and along with a stop in Dubrovnik, visit the jewels of the Dalmatian coast: Hvar, Bol, Korčula, Trstenik, Mljet, and Pučišća with many swim stops in the warm Adriatic Sea waters along the way. Don't forget the bathing suit! We only cruise for a limited number of hours during the day, close to the coast. It is smooth sailing on this Croatia cruise.

Luxury Small Ship Cruise: The ship is all ours. Every cabin is well-designed with private full shower/bath and ample storage space. Each cabin has TV, safe, hair dryer and A/C. We're approaching the tail end of a fantastic 14-day tour to Dublin and the Gems of Ireland. Our guide Mark Doherty reports that this is a wonderful group enjoying this trip. It started with 3 days in Dublin with some travelers even going out one night to enjoy the Riverdance performance. They departed Dublin on Day 3 and went up to Northern Ireland to Belfast and stayed at Ballygally Castle. facing the North Channel and Scotland. In the following days they did the Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Donegal and Slieve Cliffs. Further down on the Wild Atlantic Way they saw a sheep herding demonstration. Sligo town was special as well as Westport. Moving further down Cong was visited on the way to classic Galway, just the halfway point! The Cliffs of Moher were unforgettable and the traditional music in Doolin brought it all home! The seaside town of Di**le is Irish as Irish gets. Check back and we'll tell you more about this exciting adventure to the Emerald Isle.

If there is ever a tour that we can say is "unforgettable", it is the Paris and Normandy Invasion Beaches tour with Giverny and Mt St Michel. A tour to the Normandy beaches, cemeteries, and battle sites pays tribute to the acts of bravery our heroes displayed on June 6, 1944. It brings with it a greater understanding and appreciation of the events surrounding that fateful day. Walk in the sand at Utah and Omaha beach to get the vantage point of the liberators when their landing-craft ramps dropped into the surf. Visit enemy bunkers. Stare down the cliffs scaled by the Rangers at Pointe du Hoc. Walk through liberated villages still scarred by the ferocious fighting. Stand on the hallowed ground where “The Bedford Boys” sacrificed all they could as the first wave of invaders at Vierville Draw. Track the footsteps of the Band of Brothers. See the beaches where "Saving Private Ryan" was based upon. Everyone experiences different emotions upon seeing the field of crosses and Stars of David at the American Cemetery, but be assured of this - the memory of your visit will not soon be forgotten.

We think this small group tour to Normandy from Paris is the best way to see Normandy. Only with a small group tour to Normandy, not those big bus tours, can those remote and important sites like out-of-the way bunkers and fortified positions be visited.

Here is our group of smiling faces in Ireland earlier today enjoying the hospitality of our Irish friends. They are off on a 13-day tour of the Emerald Isle. They started in Dublin 2 days ago on arrived in Belfast today. Tomorrow it is off to the Giants Causeway.

We do a fantastic Peru/Machu Picchu/Amazon trip. We use the best hotels, best guides, and have a well-planned itinerary. For instance, here we are in Machu Picchu on our own private viewing area, reserved for us by our guides. We are in an uncrowded area, taking as much time as we want to take photos, videos and just soak in beautiful Machu Picchu. But the rest of the trip is great too. Almost everyone who goes with us says Machu Picchu was a lifetime experience, but going to the Amazon Jungle was even better. Check out our tour. We are going again in June, 2025.

What's it like being at Machu Picchu? It is hard to put that in words. Some people say it is surreal - like being in a place that really does not exist. Some people think it is spiritual. Some people just find it downright amazing. The last time we went to Machu Picchu, we had a private, roped-off, viewing spot to take as much time as we wanted, uncrowded and unhurried, to soak in the Machu Picchu experience. Traveling Professor tours are special and I am going to tell you why. We travel in small groups of 12-16 travelers. We get to go places and have experiences probably few other tour groups go to. Here is an example. Last week on our "Montreal and Quebec City Christmas Markets" tour we stayed at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel while in Montreal. You may remember this as the hotel John Lennon and Yoko One stayed in when they did their famous "Bed-In for Peace" and wrote "Give Peace a Chance" in 1969. The Queen Elizabeth still maintains the room where John Lennon and Yoko stayed. We were given a special private tour of that room and even treated to an impromptu concert. What a thrill that was! Today we enjoyed a jaunt around the Golden Circle to see waterfalls, a national park, geysers and more. #travelingprofessor
