GREEN BAY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE #2 MAKES A DONATION TO THE JERRY PARINS "CRUISE FOR CANCER FOUNDATION"

Robert Messer, President of the Green Bay Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #2 along with twelve other members of the Fraternal Order of Police, a presented a $1500.00 check to the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer Foundation, during the Packerland Harley's Owner Group meeting held at Vandervest Harley-Davidson. The money was raised from a Fishing Tournament that was sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police.

The Fraternal Order of Police, is the world's largest organization of Police with over 373,000 members. The Green Bay FOP Lodge #2 currently has over 575 members from over 15 agencies in Northeast WI, and is one of the largest lodges in the state. They operate in two basic fundamental principles, the first is to support programs and charities that foster a positive interaction between officers and the public. The second is to promote professionalism, and address issues and concerns that improve the safety and quality of life for officers and their families.

Jerry Parins is a retired Green Bay Police Officer and is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Jerry Parins is the founder of the Jerry Parins "Cruise for Cancer Foundation" along with Vandervest Harley-Davidson and the Packerland (HOG) Harley's Owners Group for 21 years.

Jerry Parins "Cruise for Cancer" Distributes $174,000

$174,000 was donated to those in our community that help battle cancer locally. Jerry Parins, retired Green Bay Policeman and Packer Secuity, who battled cancer, had a mission. He partnered with Vandervest Harley-Davidson and the Packerland Harley's Owner Group to create the Jerry Parins Cruise for Cancer event. Together, we have distributed funds raised in excess of $2.5 million dollars over 20 years, all of which has gone back directly into our community to fight cancer.

As a kick off to the ride being held this year on Sunday, June 9, we were able to distribute $174,000 to nine local non-profit entities, which are committed to battling cancer in our area. Jerry continues to work tirelessly to ensure “No One Fights Alone” which is our Mission Statement.

Join us Sunday, June 9th, at Vandervest Harley Davidson to help us raise funds and awareness at the 21st Annual Cruise For Cancer event. The parade of motorcycles will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration is needed by 11 a.m.
The family themed tailgate party takes place from 1-4 p.m. in the parking lot at Vandervest Harley-Davidson - 1966 Velp Ave., Green Bay. We are honoring six families this year. Music, food, drink, live auction, bucket raffles and more!

Cancer knows no limits and eventually touches every family in some way. Help us provide a little hope and support for those in the battle while raising awareness along the way.

You can include a note for the basket to be 'In Honor of' or 'In Memory of' a loved one affected by cancer.
