Gibson, he started out here in Greenville as a cutter in a shop and later would become partner then own his own clothing store. Gibson had two sons Howard an Frank both served in the world war. After time and Tragedy the Manor turned over into the hands of the McMillen’s. John McMillen came over from Scotland in 1880’s and he was a cabinet maker here in Greenville. If a loved one passed away they
would send for John’s services and he would send out one of his eight men that was working for him to measure the body. They would measure the body with vine or a sapling, across and down the body.. they would take it back and John would work through out the night to make a coffin to send back to the home of the deceased. John later went to college to become a undertaker and he started up his business McMillen and Son funeral home it would be handed down from son to son to son.. four generations of McMillen’s kept it going. This is some of this homes history come in and explore and see it’s true beauty. Let us show you around and you will see why we love what you will too.

Due to ongoing contract negotiations….. and Issues with the Owner of the Building that We ( Marcus & Katie ) do absolutely apologize for any inconvenience on his behalf. # Note the video below is the owner of the building coming in unannounced not knocking in on a team, she stated she was uncomfortable and was alone, The rest of the team went to Walmart. He decided that it was still so very important to go in and check on everything that we have told that was absolutely fine and we could take pictures for him. Long story short the team was very upset, As they should be. We ( Marcus & Katie ) rectified the situation and we do promise that will not happen again. That being said.. .. .. We Greenville Manor 1881 is Closed until further notice, until we get things straightened out.

What is next???? We absolutely don’t know.. trust Katie and I. We love this place with our hearts. Only one holding us back. And I can’t stay silent any more.
I do apologize, this happened last night and for right now we are uncertain of what is next. All 3 floors including the basement was affected.. we have damage to some of our things we don’t think we can replace.. the baby casket. 😭😭 it had so much water in it. Howard’s bed was so soaked.. it got into the kitchen on the first floor but we got there just before it started to destroy that as well..

What a Year it Has been for Greenville Manor💜💜 Marcus has put so much heart and love into this home.. myself included.. I don’t know what the future holds because it’s a constant struggle every day in our personal lives unfortunately.. we are trying to straighten everything out. And I do apologize for any inconvenience until then.. any one who says that we are not successful should watch all of your videos and read your amazing words about this beautiful home.. I will forever love Greenville Manor..

Have you ever heard of a "Mourning Doll" or "Grave Doll"?
Due to the high mortality rate in the Victorian Era there were many practices in lieu of remembrance of a loved one after death such as post mortem photography and mourning hair art, grave dolls/mourning dolls became a popular way for parents to create an effigy of a deceased child for remembrance. The doll would often be dressed in the deceased child/infant's own clothing and most of the child's hair would be used to make the doll even more realistic and would be put on display at the wake and would then be left at the grave site...
This is where "Harriet Grace" was found - at an old grave site dated in the 1800's. She appears to have aged with not only the essence of time, but with the outdoor elements she's been exposed to for so very long. She has what looks to be a dried up corpsed flesh and is wearing a distressed christening gown of satin and lace with matching bonnet on her bald head. This little one will come with a wicker baby basket covered in satin and adorned with lace on the edges that she can be displayed in! She is 15” tall! She is also musical, so pull the chord on her back to hear her little lullaby, Rock-a-bye Baby!
