Where will today’s journey take me?

Our 3rd park was Magic Kingdom. On this park day we bought the Genie Plus, Individual Lightening Lane (ILL) for 7 Drawfs Mine Train (7DMT), and got the virtual queue (VQ) for Tron. I missed the VQ at 7am for Tron. I think I had bad cell service in my room so for the next morning when we got Guardians of the Galaxy VQ I went outside and got it easy. We did get Tron at the 1pm VQ time though. This was a day where things didn’t go as planned. We got there early to “rope drop” (term used to get there before the park opens and go straight to a ride when you are let in) Peter Pan’s Flight, but it was down. Coincidentally, 7DMT was down too! So we hurried to Space Mountain and by the time we got off, it was 9:10am and rope drop time was over. I was hoping to knock out both PP and SM before 9am, at least be in line for SM before 9am. So we had to monitor and adjust as you do so often at Disney. Tron also went down while we were in line. After an hour of waiting and moving a couple of my already booked Genie plus rides back (you can move them by modifying), we went to a cast member and asked if we could come back if we left. We were tired and grumpy but I made sure to be very polite, it wasn’t her fault Tron was down. She graciously gave us an open ended Individual Lightening Lane to come back before the night was over. This allowed us to ride it at night which is much better anyway. Always be nice to cast members! A term you may hear when referring the Genie Plus is “stacking.” This means booking those Genie Plus rides for later so they are back to back to back. I put a pic in here of how we did this. Because most of those rides were later in the day, we filled our morning with smaller rides, pictures, and other little things.

Things we did not do but you may want to if you have smaller kids;
The Main Street Parade, Shows in front of the castle throughout the day, the Tea Cups, The Carrousel, It’s A Small World, Liberty Square River Boat, Tom Sawyer’s Island, Swiss Family Tree, Tiki Room, Aladin’s Magic Carpets, and there is a kids area called Storybook Circus that has Dumbo, the Barnstormer, a Soak Station, Smellaphants and other kids activities. There were also several other characters.

Closed: Tianna’s Bayou opens to the public on June 28. Country Bear Jamboree opens to the public on July 17.

Going to Walt Disney World and Disneyland can be complicated. And those complications can create anxiety and cause you not to enjoy the trip near as much. One of those things is knowing how to properly utilize Genie Plus, Indivudual Lightening Lanes, and Virtual Queues. This is where I come in as a Disney travel advisor. I can help guide you and educate you on these tools (and sometimes book the virtual queue for you) to ease the anxieties of your magical trip. So I’m up to speed and educated properly, I used all of these tools on my recent trip. I also watch a ton of YouTube videos and read through updated information emails daily. Although our trip wasn’t flawless, we had pretty smooth days with very little wait times in lines. I have attached our documented first day in this post so that you can get an idea of how a day can flow using these tools. The virtual queue was not needed for day one since we were at Hollywood Studios. We also did not buy the Individual Lightening Lane (ILL) because we “rope-dropped” Rise of the Resistance (ROR). “Rope-Drop” means to be at the gates before opening so that you can go straight to a ride when they let you inside the parks. However, we also didn’t do Slinky Dog Dash. If I had a plan to do that ride I would buy the ILL for ROR and rope drop Slinky Dog instead. This is more costly but saves a ton of time. Lastly, Rockin’ Rollercoaster was closed for refurbishment but will open back up on July 27, 2024.
Rides/Shows/Entertainment we did not do that you might if you have younger children; Alien Swirling Saucers, Lightening McQueen’s Racing Academy, Vacation Fun-An Original Animated Short with Mickey and Minnie, Walt Disney Presents, Several more characters, and the Parade.

Everything that we ate at WDW including some of the snacks we brought home. For us, WDW is more than rides and characters, it’s an experience. And food and drinks are a HUGE part of that experience. The smells of the French bakery put us in France. The Werther’s store in Germany reminds KK of her grandfather who used to always have a Werthers candy in his pocket for the kids. The sugar crepe put me on the counter at my grandmother’s house and reminded me of those thin pancakes she used to make. The French Quarter food took us back to NOLA. And the list goes on and on. Disney is special to us for many many reasons and we hope we can help you make it special for you too!

The 2nd biggest tip I can give you when going to Disney…TAKE PONCHOS! It’s Florida, it WILL rain! We’ve seen several poor unfortunate souls walking around without an umbrella or ponchos. They were absolutely soaking wet! And we’ve seen several people running into the gift store and buying $25 ponchos.

We had an amazing family trip to Universal Orlando Resorts. I had no idea how amazing these parks were but now I can help you have that amazing vacation too!

Isla Mujeres, The Island of Women, is an island just off the coast of Cancun. It’s a popular excursion and there are many resorts on the island. The main modes of transportation are golf cart, taxi and scooters. The water is absolutely amazing! We made a 1 hour trip on the golf cart covering the whole island but we didn’t stop near as much as we would have lacked due to time constraints.

We have arrived in Cancun. Can’t wait to spend the next 7 days here with family and friends.

Close your eyes and just listen. Ahhhhhhh 🌊 *If you zoom in far out to the left you may see some dolphins🐬 pop up.

Space 220 Lounge at Epcot

Launched up into space to go eat at Space 220. We didn’t have reservations but we were able to score the lounge just by walking up and asking, only a 10 minute wait!
