Disney Food Friday: Katsura Grill

If you enjoy Japanese food, you will love Katsura Grill in the Japan pavilion at EPCOT. Some of the tasty options at this quick service dining location include different types of sushi, shrimp tempura udon, tonkotsu ramen, chicken cutlet curry, chicken and beef teriyaki, miso soup, edamame, yuzu cheesecake, and more.

As I have mentioned before, one of the things that I love about a Disney Cruise Line vacation is all of the beautiful islands that you can visit. While at each stop, you can choose a Port Adventure, a shore excursion specially selected by Disney Cruise Line, to experience. I love doing excursions through Disney because of how easy the whole experience is. The Port Adventures desk gives you a time and location to meet. You are then picked up for your excursion from the ship and escorted back to the ship afterwards. Another huge perk, if anything happened to make your excursion take longer than expected and you were going to miss making it back before the departure time, Disney does not leave without you if you are on a Port Adventure booked through Disney Cruise Line. Here are some pictures from a Port Adventure in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. This excursion was called Tour to Virgin Gorda, and it involved exploring The Baths, beautiful beaches and sea caves.

Disney Food Friday: Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

One of my favorite ways to start a Walt Disney World day is with a character breakfast. At Chef Mickey’s, you can enjoy a tasty breakfast buffet while meeting Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto all in their chef outfits. Tasty buffet options include Mickey waffles, steak and egg scramble, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, hashbrown casserole, charcuterie, fresh fruit, and more.

Disney Food Friday: Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney

If you’re a fan of soup and sandwich meals, head straight to Earl of Sandwich next time you’re at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World or Downtown Disney at Disneyland! My personal favorite is the Holiday Turkey sandwich(turkey, cornbread stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce & mayonnaise.)

Walt Disney World Wednesday: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Journey down the bayou with Tiana and Louis while enjoying great music and seeing all of your favorite Princess and the Frog characters. One of the highlights of this attraction is a 50 foot drop that leads you to a fun Mardi Gras celebration. If you would like to ride this attraction, you will need to book a Lightning Lane by purchasing Lightning Lane Multipass or by joining the virtual queue.

All Virgin Voyages out of Miami include a stop at the Beach Club at Bimini located on North Bimini Island. The Beach Club at Bimini is a private, exclusive beach club for Virgin Voyage guests with a large private beach, pools, included dining, activities, and more. Some activities on the island include a pool float party, morning yoga, mermaid appearances, and a pool DJ. While things like food, soft drinks, water, sun loungers, umbrellas, wifi, and activities are included in your voyage fair, your room key band can be used to purchase extras like using your bar tab. If you are interested in doing something adventurous, there are multiple Shore Things (excursions) to choose from.

Disney Food Friday: 1900 Park Fare Dinner at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

From the delicious food to the fun characters to the beautiful decorations, this restaurant is one of my favorite resort character meals. This buffet style meal has many different types of food to choose from. From Tiana’s gumbo to curry-roast chicken to prime rib, there is something for everyone! The characters who typically meet at this meal are Mirabel, Tiana, Aladdin, and Cinderella. This restaurant is one table service credit per person on the Disney Dining Plan.

Disney Food Friday: Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café

This popular Magic Kingdom quick service dining location recently got a menu makeover. Tasty new options include a create your own steamed tamale, a double chili con queso burger, a create your own nacho or rice bowl, and a grilled masa flatbread. Pictured are the steamed tamale with citrus chipotle chicken and the nacho bowl with Coca-Cola cherry braised beef.

Disney Cruise Line- Disney Magic Verandah Room

I’m on my way home after an amazing week aboard the Disney Magic. For anyone interested in a Disney Cruise Line vacation, I’ll be sharing more over the next week or so. For now, here is a tour of a verandah room on the Disney Magic (Disney Cruise Line’s first ship.) The birthday decor was a package that I added as a gift for my mom.

Disney Food Friday: 1900 Park Fare

With a refurbished dining room and other special touches, 1900 Park Fare will be reopening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on April 10th! This character meal will be served buffet style and offered for breakfast and dinner with returning guest favorites as well as new menu offerings paying tribute to some of the characters and their stories. Characters you will be able to meet include Aladdin in his Prince Ali look, Cinderella, Mirabel, and Tiana in her new look from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Make sure to look for Big Bertha, an antique organ, on display in the main dining room.

So, since I just disembarked the Disney Wish, most of my posts this week will be about my recent trip. Before this cruise, we have always chosen to stay in a verandah stateroom. Because we spend so much time doing activities and out of the room, we decided to try an inside stateroom. For anyone interested, here is an example of this category of room. The one perk that we enjoyed was how dark the room was at night. With no window/balcony, you could sleep in as late as you want with no light coming in. We did miss our balcony though and plan on sticking with a verandah in the future. For those who aren’t interested in a balcony/ocean view room, the inside category is a great option for a nice comfy place to rest.

On Disney Cruise Line sailings of 7 nights or more, you can experience Animation Magic at Animator's Palate! Before your dinner starts, you are given a sheet of paper with markers to design your own character. Then, towards the end of the meal, you can watch your animation come to life!

To continue with my Halfway to the Holidays posts, another Christmas time favorite that will be returning is Epcot International Festival of the Holidays Candlelight Processional. Hear the story of Jesus's birth as told by a celebrity narrator. Woven into the production are beautiful songs performed by a live orchestra and massed choir.
