A lot of planning and work went into the interior design of Piggyback. Our internal team of expert upholsters left no surface untouched, and created an interior space that is clean, inviting, and takes advantage of a plaid-patterned color pop to provide a signature look unique to Piggyback.

Blue and green plaid fabric is used liberally throughout the van, with the primary captain’s chairs, passenger bench seat, front cabin arm rests, ceiling, hatch cover, and window covers all treated with the pattern.

A particular challenge for the team was to get the plaid strip that runs the length of the van to lineup. Starting with the ceiling, a grid was laid out and the strip laid out and sewed directly onto the Sileather ceiling panels. Once installed, a plumb line was used to map out where the strip would connect to the rear window covers and front cabin divider. The end result is a perfectly lined up pop of color that ties the entire van together.

Piggyback is just as unique on the inside as it is on the outside! With seating and sleeping for 4, Piggyback can accommodate the whole squad.

The primary sleeping area utilizes our fold down murphy bed enabling a convertible garage area that can be flipped between sleep mode and gear mode quickly and easily. Secondary sleeping is up top in the SCA ROOFS Pop top which features a memory foam pad and power to help keep devices charged no matter where you are in the van.

Piggyback likes to get dirty, but that doesn't mean you have to! There is a full sized dedicated interior shower that runs off the interior freshwater tank and can dole out hot or cold water at a moments notice. To maximize useable space, we have mesh storage pockets to the side of the shower, perfect for slim items like laptops or tablets.

There is also a full-sized galley located in the slider opening and has everything you would expect including a sizeable fridge, electric induction cooktop, tons of storage, and a beautiful sink with a hideaway faucet that can be pulled out and has an extra-long hose so you can use it as an outdoor shower.

There is also a fold-away bench seat that folds up and flush with the wall to maximize space when its just 2 people.

Finally, the entire van has been upholstered with sileather, interweave, and a blue/green plaid that makes it all pop!

Say Hello to Piggyback!

Piggyback is our latest Concept Adventure Van from our Custom Division. Built on a Sprinter 144 chassis, Piggyback is a beast that is at home off-road and in the mud!

Featuring oversized KM3 BFGoodrich Tires , our very own Outside Van wheels, 360 degree RIGID Industries - LED Lighting exterior lighting, and SCA ROOFS pop-top to accommodate extra guests, and a RIP Kit and rear door tire carrier from Agile Offroad , Piggyback is a real hog on wheels!

When designing the exterior of Piggyback, we took inspiration from the classic styling of the G-Wagons and included a high-gloss finish that covers the bumper, side panels, and capsules.

Piggyback is simply decked out with features. For the dusty roads we incorporated a Sprinter Snorkel and oversized fender flares sourced by to help fit the oversized mud tires.

We also built a custom pop-top compatible lightbar mount and included backup lights in our rear step bumper.

Mountain biking at this years Outsider Summit was 🔥!! Lindsey V. took adventure to new heights in Moab, leading mountain bike expeditions on iconic trails like Slick Rock and Dead Horse State Park. Despite the 90-degree heat, the Outsiders powered through, rewarded with a refreshing dip in a local swimming hole after a day of epic desert rides!

Earlier this month at our Outsider Summit, attendees dove into hands-on workshops led by Warner Vans of Utah and Voyager Outdoors, learning essential van maintenance, off-road recovery, and repair skills. But the true highlight? Taking over 20 vans on an epic journey through Moab’s most remote and stunning landscapes. From winding desert trails to breathtaking vistas, it was a weekend filled with learning, exploration, and unforgettable adventure!
