Meet Maddison. Maddison recently joined the Parks & Rec team as our new Adaptive & Inclusive Coordinator and we are SO excited she’s here!🎉

➡️ Maddison’s vision? Provide three areas of programming: Fitness, Wellness, and Sport.

In your own words – describe adaptive and inclusive⬇️
“Adaptive means providing accessible recreation and leisure opportunities for children, adults and veterans with disabilities utilizing specialized equipment and instruction to make everyone successful.”

“Inclusive means people with disabilities have access to participate in mainstream Parks & Rec activities by providing appropriate accommodations for a successful experience!”

💚Why is this a passion for you?
“I have worn a prosthetic since birth, so I have always participated in adaptive sports and recognized the importance of these programs - they can transform lives and enrich our entire community.

🤝How do you envision making Parks & Rec even more inclusive?
“By highlighting opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sports and wellness, I hope these programs will help to break down stigmas against people with disabilities and promote more acceptance and awareness about community cohesion and inclusion.”

🎶What are some of your interests outside work?
“In my free time I love hanging out with my husband, son and our two dogs and I love to play pickleball. Also, I’m a HUGE Dolly Parton fan!”

It's the last day of fall and we are all cozy here at Visit Grove City thanks to Broadway Fireplace & Decor 🔥🥰

This fireplace adds a warm and welcoming feel to our community living room. Stop by the visitors center and hang out for a bit. Our staff can answer all of your questions about Grove City and provide resources for other destinations that you may be interested in traveling too.

The Grove City Nutcracker Hunt officially starts TOMORROW!

This year there are 40 nutcrackers in local businesses 🥰

How it works:
+ Get a Grove City Nutcracker Hunt paper with all 40 of the businesses listed
(Pick up your sheet here or download it online ➡️ bit.ly/gcNutcrackerHunt)
+ Find 10 or more of them and write the number that is attached on the nutcracker
+ Turn it in to one of the prize locations by January 6

This tree is in memory of S. Ross Taylor and will be in front of the visitor center all month long to collect memories of our loved ones. There will be pens and ribbons at the tree, write your memory and tie to the tree. ❤️
